‪The mill is not worthy of the National Trust. It is essentially a dusty, derelict mill with a little bit of literature to explain some of its history.
On the other hand the Wyre Forrest is peaceful and full of good walks.‬

‪While looking for a different local walk we stumbled across this place on the National Trust website. With a car park suitable for about a dozen cars and a circular walk of between 3 and 4 miles which is dog friendly and very few other walkers

The Mill itself is a lovely little building in great condition with information boards inside about its use and history and fully accessible.

While not a must see, if you are a local looking for some quiet countryside time, then this is probably somewhere you haven't been and should have a look.‬

‪Nice walk through wyre forest and founds this little gem, very muddy around this time of year so be careful of walking through. Inside the old mill is all information regarding the history of the mill and some tools hung up that they used all those years ago. You can walk around the building to the top floor which also has history labelled all around, amazing find and also has markings on the door frame of the highest floods recorded there. Just wish it was looked after better really as there are many broken trees around falling into the river.‬

‪Wyre Forest is always a beautiful place to walk in but this is a little historical hidden gem in such a pretty spot. Just be thankful working conditions have improved somewhat since the mill was in use.‬

‪The walk is rough in places and does take a while. Very pretty walking by the banks for the river. The Mill is well kept. It is small but provides a welcome break at the end of the walk. ‬

‪Well i've lived in the area all my life and have never heard of this place until i stumbled across it one May Saturday afternoon whilst walking! Only briefly had time to look then went back in June to have a proper mooch.

It is an old non-operational mill that was working in the latter parts of the last century. There are plenty of information boards telling you all about how it worked, who worked here, the history, what the role of the mill was etc. You need to allow a good 45 minutes to mooch around and read all the detailed information which is really interesting if old history and this sort of things floats your boat.

Mill can be accessed two ways, one from the main footpath alongside Dowles Brook or through another footpath behind it which ulimately leads you out onto the old Bewdley-Tenbury railway line. I entered via the former and left via the latter.

There are no facilities here like a café/toilets, it's totally free to get in (two levels) and you are unlikely to have any company whilst there. Make sure you read and sign the guest book on the lower level, always amazing how far people come to view it!

There is seating inside and also outside under a shelter so you could bring a little picnic if you wanted! It's a very tranquil area and the old mill house next door is still a residential house today!

Worth a visit but combine it with a walk - You would probably be disappointed if you came here on a special trip thinking it was an all morning attraction - It's more a passing thing to look at as you wlalk!‬

‪Well worth visiting if you have an interest in water mills, or fancy visiting a peaceful off the beaten track location. The site is in the early stages of renovation, and has some of the old mill machinery in place and has some information boards relating to the site.
This is a lovely and interesting place to stop off to eat your sandwiches if you are walking in the forest.‬

‪Visited today as part of the national open mill day.
What a little gem in the forest.
The person representing The National Trust was really nice and very knowledgeable on this and other Mills in the locality.
We will certainly visit again in the future. ‬

‪Unlike others we didn't know about the 'designated car park' so just drove down the track (which is not that bad really; just a bit bumpy). The mill is definitely worth a visit to see how people used water power to grind corn in the 19th century. The displays are good and you can get have a good look round. We were fortunate in that one of the volunteers was there to tell us about the mill. It would be nice of the National Trust put some money in this property and got the wheel working again...‬
