Stayed at the log cabin on whitebottom farm. Great walk from there to the entrance of the park via the weir and lakes. Lots of ducks and geese. Good to see the benches dedicated to locals.

Lovely park & woodlands on edge of Stockport, so easy to get to from both Manchester and Stockport. We love coming here in autumn, as the colours are great. The areas around the water are busy, as people feed the ducks and enjoy the cafe, but when you decide to walk up into the wooded hills, it is peaceful. There are benches with views dotted in places for a flask with a view.

Great place for an autumn walk. Can find pram friendly options or go trudging up a rockier path if you so choose.

If you have not been there try it - plenty of walks and routes to take and a decent cafe to end up in.

A lovely walk and feed the ducks. Pram friendly routes as well as some you'd best avoid wheels. The food offering in the cafe could do with a few more options. Car park gets very busy on the weekends.

Whilst not a large area overall, it manages to pack in some quite varied features which should provide something for everyone looking for a pleasant place to walk.
From the car park there is a flat circular walk around the lake and along the feeder canal section on pathways that appear suitable for prams, buggies and most wheelchairs. In addition to the numerous wildfowl that call this their home, you will often find sailors (both those in small dinghies and those with model boats) on weekends. At the end of this section is a weir, and a picnic area with some benches and seating.
Many probably think that's the end of it, but if you venture up the gated road to the left (with your back facing the way you have just come) you get into a wholly different section of the park. This is quite hilly and wooded. There are magnificent flushes of bluebells in spring. If you walk up the first short steep(ish) section and take the first path branching downhill on the right, you find yourself at a hidden (and more natural) second lake where a swan family are usually in residence. This path actually follows a loop through the woodland, and you will eventually (after a few ups and downs) return to where you started.
I have only one complaint about the park. The provision of toilets and a cafe serving good coffee and tasty snacks is a wonderful bonus. But why is there no re-cycling bin for the recyclable cups and cardboard boxes that the take-away toasties are served in? If I can, I will take mine home, but that is not always convenient.

Well maintained and nice walk around the lake and through the forest. Great for kids too and pram friendly. The cafe is dangerously expensive however so bring your own food and drinks and park early as it gets filled very quickly. But there's a couple of quiet streets where you can leave your car for free.

Nice place for a quiet walk, well maintained paths, and the Keg is worth seeing despite there being a bit too much rubbish in there.

Lovely walk in beautiful surroundings. Nice little cafe open for takeaway and toilets also open. Unfortunately pay for parking machine broken but can pay using Ringo app. Arrived early so plenty of spaces but by 11am it was full.

I am not aware l of a fairy land garden there.
