‪Lovely place for a walk with spectacular views. It would be nice to have a little information on the gibbet near it. But other than that. Go. Blow away the cobwebs‬

‪Take a Walk, Enjoy the Views‬

‪This area is a perfect place for walks and the views of the surrounding countryside are stunning. A 7.6 metre high double gibbet standing in the middle of a neolithic long-barrow, Combe Gibbet was erected in 1676 to hang two locals found guilty of murder, although it is believed the current gibbet is the sixth replacement of the original. How is that for a little bit of local history?‬

‪After cycling to Combe gibbet from Andover we arrived just as there was a little bit of snow, got some amazing views and pictures. Sone amazing walks around the area and perfect for a countryside day out. A great spot for drone photography and there is always lots is space for picnics etc. The surrounding area is amazing too with lots of wildlife and things to see. Would definitely recommend ‬

‪Parking is hit and miss although there is more parking on the Faccombe road not too far away. The views are stunning and there are enough paths to allow for some good walks. Catch it at the right time and you will see some lovely flying displays from the Buzzards and Red Kites and keep an eye out for the Kestrels I have often seen them hovering near the car park.‬

‪Visited for a walk and to explore the area. Car park is easy to find and free to use, loads of footpaths to pick from. We managed to pick one that was quite technical in places but well worth it for the views and spontaneous blackberry picking!‬

‪The gibbet only really merits a quick look. It is interesting to see but there's not much to it. The main reason for coming here is for the views. There's a small free car park at the top if you don't want to walk too far. Nearby Walbury Hill is the highest point in Berkshire (297m).‬
