No signage to warn of stupid cash only policy. What a joke, they must be dodging tax to not have a card machine in 2023. We didn't see any signs until it was too late and we are pretty observant. Disgraceful rip off paying online.

Absolute joke of ineptitude… so you can’t pay by card on the ferry, cash only. I haven’t used the ferry for years and found out the hard way. Apparently it’s too complicated to get a card machine (even though much smaller ferries such as the King Harry Ferry in Cornwall can manage it). Will never use the ferry again and will just drive over the bridge and take the long route in future…
Either get far better signage in place to state that it’s cash only, or get a card machine, it’s not hard… even a SumUp would do….

Very rude staff, needs a card machine imminently. Have to go online and pay double instead of having a card machine; clearly just a way of taking more money

First aboard this Ferry. Friendly, welcoming staff. Easy boarding. Cash only....that was fine for us, don't get caught out though, they take no card payments.

Great little ferry service, only £2.00 to cross with lovely views of the river. Well organised and ran smoothly.

Took the ferry a few times whilst visiting recently. Very frequent, hardly any queuing and a bargain at £2 too. Good vista over the water during what is about a ten minute trip.

Cash only?! In the generation of card only.. makes total sense. Who carries loose change these days? To only be presented with a ticket and additional admin fee. Very outdated, greedy approach. Appalling.

CASH ONLY and do not accept card payments. Tax dodging???????? Does the job of travelling from Devon to Cornwall and back but they knky take cash. If you don't have cash, they charge you twice the price as a fine. I do not understand why in this day in age they only take cash. Other boat operators take contactless, the bridge is contactless and even ice cream vans and sole traders. I suspect they are dodging tax.

Lovely views from both the Torpoint ferry and Tamar Bridge. Used both last time. Nice Cornwall trips and lots to Do. Could do with a lower price for multiple use though, regular travel Discounts.

Free for pedestrians, and cars only pay coming out of Cornwall, runs all year round, great way to get in to Cornwall, would highly recommend.

Is it okay to take our caravan on the ferry from Plymouth to Torpoint?

Yes caravans, trailers are all welcome but do cost extra. They will take payment on the ferry.

Are you allowed to stay on the bus whilst crossing the ferry, also can you get on the bus whilst it is on the ferry?

Going in that direction is free. You only pay going Torpoint to Plymouth 1.50 I think.

There are buses outside the railway station which will take you across the river Tamar to Torpoint in Cornwall, and beyond.
