A full charge for a few hours trip was not good. Staffs here looked grumpy. The place is very windy.

Every so often we visit Jervis Bay to reminisce. I grew up there when I was a kid, we had our honeymoon there. I love this place. I didn't want and still don't want to share this place with the rest of the world but I have to. Take care of this special place.

We are very fortunate in NSW to have an abundance of well maintained national parks to enjoy now and into the future. Jervis Bay National Park backs onto the ACT's Booderee National Park and together they both protect the beaches, wildlife and marine areas of the Jervis Bay area.

Unless you're going to one of the beaches for the day or hiking the entry price doesn't really justify a short visit. The lighthouse was interesting but the rest was pretty ordinary. I'd stick to Hyams Beach and skip the National Park.

Why is Greenpatch not an option to review on Trip Advisor? This place is amazing. As a child I came here throughout the 70's and the fact it does not appear on trip advisor suggests it is still an unknown gem. Among the whitest sand in the world with gentle surf. Shallow water ways that are great for young toddlers to swim in. (They can be a bit brown but it is from the tree roots not dirt). And the grassy banks nearby are perfect for sand free picnics. We arrived early and the wallabies were still around. In my youth we could feed the birds. The colorful parrots would come and sit in your hands or on your head and feed on sunflower seeds. Now a days you are told not to feed them but when the food came out they were very friendly and fought hard to share an apple with my husband, It did cost $12 per car to enter and the nearby beautiful Hyams beach is free but does not have the wildlife. It was also insanely busy and crowded when we called by there after our secluded green patch beach visit.

This is a gem of an area along the NSW south coast. Many beaches and well defined trails through coastal bushland. All mostly free to enter. Includes rocky outcrops, sandy beaches, picnic areas, Jervis Bay views, plus extensive birdlife and occasional whale spotting in season. Good for all ages either solo, as couples, or families with kids. A host of nearby accommodation, food and retail.

Great afternoon out. Really only need 2 hours to visit here. Usual animals though the camels surprised me. Quiet but imagine during peak non fire season this place would be packed.

Miles of golden sandy bays which were empty when we visited.
Huge areas of bush full of wildlife.
Miles of massive Eucalyptus and wild area.
So much natural beauty you just can't describe it in words
Just hoping it is all still there and untouched by fire for others to enjoy and appreciate

I found some in Cave beach. I'm not sure if which one is the best, but there is a option.

Can you suggest some dog friendly caravan parks in the Jervis Bay area
preferably near a beach?

Hi - sorry I don't know about Caravan Parks at Jervis Bay.
We stayed in the waterfront units at the Coral Lodge Caravan Park at Greenwell Point near the mouth of the Shoalhaven river. It has mainly permanent vans. Very popular with fisherman. We have stayed in their units 3 times visiting the Shoalhaven & Jervis Bay... we don't have dogs.. If you want to be at Jervis Bay itself you will have to check with those parks. cheers

Hi, my best friend & I are looking for a dog friendly caravan park (5 dogs in total) near the beach at Jervis Bay for 4-5 nights from around 14 March to 19 March.
Thanks,
Petra

Dog's cannot have access to the National Park but they are allowed on Hyams Beach.... there is one caravan park in 'Husky' so contact them to see if they will allow dogs?
