‪The trail is gorgeous, interesting and well kept but I would avoid Bainbridge.

Yesterday, on a Sunday afternoon when there are lots of families on the trail, there was a crowd gathered in the VFW parking lot firing watching a guy fire his long gun. Thankfully, they weren't firing toward the trail, just towards the VFW hall and adjacent buildings. A few hundred feet away there's a gate with a huge
T R U M P sign and a warning that Conway township is "not a gun free zone" It was the entrance to an "exotic" hunt business. The proprietor is the president of the Unified Sportsmen of Pennsylvania. Per the rhetoric on his web page, he believes the 2020 election was stolen and President Biden is leading a communist takeover.

A few decades ago, this behavior would've just been stupid and obnoxious. Now, given the political environment, it was scary as crap. I believe it was intended that way. They knew what they were doing. Marietta, a cute little town a few miles south was cool though. I'd start there.‬

‪We love this trail. My husband and I have ridden several times over the past few years. We rode in September right after Hurricane Ida. What a blast. Some people were turning around due to some flooding on the trail. Us two old farts had the best time riding through the water and maneuvering our bikes around downed trees. Felt like kids again. Anytime is a great ride. There is a tunnel and great views of the river. We always eat our packed lunch in the park in Marietta overlooking the Susquehanna River. This for the most part follows along an old rail path so is fairly flat. There are some small ups and downs close to Marietta and getting back to Columbia is uphill for a few hundred feet. There is a nice ice cream shop in the old Pennsylvania Rail Station at the end of the trail. Don't forget to smash the Lantern Flies.‬

‪Biked this trail this weekend. Loved the winding nature of it and that it was mostly shaded. It's not quite as pretty at the start, in Columbia. Hold tight, the rest is beautiful. Our trip was shortened 2 miles north of Marietta though due to it being flooded out from the rains two days prior. Can't be helped.... We look forward to coming back to do it again. There are plenty of rest stops, picnic tables, bike tire pumping stations and a few restroom stops along the way for convenience.‬

‪This trail is my go-to every weekend that I can. It's flat as others have stated, although there are many short low-angle grades that will have you downshifting here and there. There's nothing boring about this ride because one minute you're twisting and turning through the forest and the next minute you're riding past large open fields and pastures. Except for one short section through Marietta, you will hardly see any houses at all. Marietta by the way is quaint and has wonderful shops and restaurants. There are many places along the way to view the Susquehanna including multiple boat launches, lots of park benches and picnic tables, and two parks with covered picnic areas (no fires). The larger one is The RiverTrail Pavilion and is accessible by car from Marietta. It has a small playground, a soda vending machine, and two portable toilets. The smaller one, Koser Park, is in Bainbridge and has a pavilion, park benches, a grassy area to sit and gaze at the river, and the Bainbridge Inn and other eateries just over the railroad tracks. Speaking of railroad tracks, the Norfolk-Southern railway parallels the whole bike trail and it's not unusual to hear and see a long line of freight trains slowly rumbling by. One of my favorite aspects of the trail is the sheer variety of scenery, and except for crossing the street in Columbia to get from the parking areas to the beginning of the trail, there are no intersections to stop at, typical of other trails. You may encounter cars in Marietta and at some of the parking areas but it's minimal and there are always paths to the side and off the street, as well as street bike markings in Marietta. The other thing that I like about the NWLRT is that it's very well maintained. The only downside is that if you wait until late morning or the afternoon especially on a weekend the trail gets to be very busy with all manner of walkers, riders, skaters, families, children, and other groups who may not be aware of the need to keep to the side of the trail so you'll find yourself announcing "On your left!" more than you might like, so go early if you can. Also, please take your litter with you!‬

‪Paved trail along farmland, through woods, along the Susquehanna River for 16 miles from Columbia to Marietta, to Bainbridge too Falmouth. Its a continuous trail for 13 miles Falmouth to Marietta. Then in Marietta there is a section that goes down the town's roads and there is a 1/2 mile down a bumpy paved road by the sewer plant in Marietta, due to property along the River owned by a railroad, and not granting access.

This trail is marvelous. Paved, wide, well maintained, with great scenery.‬

‪I parked at the Columbia Crossing River Trails Center at 41 Walnut Street in Columbia PA. The trail center had modern restrooms and plenty of free parking. I highly recommend starting at this location for your ride! There is a cafe and ice cream shop across the tracks as you start/finish your ride. There were lots of places along the trail to stop and rest (picnic tables, porta potties). The trail is paved and flat.‬

‪Gorgeous! A nice smooth and flat ride with beautiful views. There is even a food truck along the way with inexpensive scrumptious pulled pork and hit cider! ‬

‪Very nice trail. Five first timers, we rode this past Wednesday. Lots more traffic than I was expecting on a weekday. Lots of cool scenery along the way. Several incidents including one crash and two flat tires but was still a good day... for me. The issues just reinforce the notion to pay attention and be prepared. And maybe one spare tube isn't enough :)‬

‪Well maintained and active. We did a 5 mile up & back from Marietta to a waterfront park. Very scenic, bikers, runners, inline skaters. Nice facility. Did not see any true restroom facilities, just portables.‬
