We had set out on a certain itinerary that was sidelined when we missed our turn. In so doing we happened upon Sue and her wonderful gardens filled with whimsy. What Sue has created over the years is pretty remarkable. Cut from steel, she fashions replicas of the creatures that she has seen on her farm. everything from a fox to a monarch butterfly and everything in between. The wall of blue bottles really caught my eye. Sue doesn't think of herself as an artist but I beg to differ. We had an enjoyable time walking around and seeing all of her work. It reminded me of a rural version of Pittsburgh's Randyland. One person's vision and creation.

Husband and I go here every year to pick fruit. There is nothing better than getting cherries, peaches, plums, apples etc fresh off the tree. We missed the sour cherries this year but picked peaches last week. So delicious! While cherry trees, esp the older ones are very tall, the apple and peach trees are usually shorter and picking is done without needing to be on a ladder. I just made a peach cobbler to die for!!

Sue's gardens may not be for everyone but if you enjoy the unexpected this is your place. Expect to spend a half hour just wandering around, more if you are lucky enough to meet Sue

So far, apples(Fall 2015) and cherries this year. Will be adding more as the 2016 harvesting season continues. Friendly owners and a large variety of locally grown produce to choose from. Take the family and have a great day at the farm.

We traveled outside of my hometown of Erie, PA during sweet cherry season to look for a cherry orchards in North East. There are several out there between all the vineyards and now wineries. This one captured our attention as the quality of cherries and excellent price on all fruit. They also have fall crops like apples. The young couple running the farm were helpful and friendly. We likely will be back in the fall!
