My wife and I had a great experience at Camelot Farms. Our first time back on horseback in more than 30 years so we went on the one-hour trail ride on the plantation grounds.
Our guide Becky and all the people we met were professional but easy going. The horses are obviously very well cared for and they were friendly as well.
I especially liked the fact that they let me help with the brushing of my horse before the ride as that helped me get back into the mindset of being at the barn and around the horses again.
We look forward to returning and taking the ride out to the beach.
You can't go wrong by booking a ride with these folks.

Staff were very helpful, polite and chatty. Horses were well trained, in good condition, with properly fitted tack. I was disappointed that we only rode on the beach for 15 minutes during the 2 hour 'beach' ride.

Staff was great, very friendly and helpful. Horse were easy to ride. We took our grandchildren, and they enjoyed the experience.

This ride had so much wasted potential . We were a mixed group of riders from very experienced to first timers . Our guides were two young women that I’m sure love horses and are excellent groomers but they were very poor trail guides . They had a young man that had never even been on a horse lead the group , the guides situated themselves side by side in the middle of the pack and only talked to each other about their summer plans . No guidance , no instructions , no safety protocol . These two guides had no control over this ride at anytime . The missed opportunity was the actual ride itself . There was no information about where we were no historical recount of the area , no significance to our surroundings . We were on a very old historical plantation for the majority of the ride I only know this after looking it up post ride . In closing I would NOT recommend this ride or this company until they can better train their guides on safety protocol and a lesson in history .

What a great ride we had! Took the beach ride, beautiful day, beautiful horses and great people at the barn! Our guide for both rides were great! Would highly recommend anyone who travels here to take a ride!👍

We had a fantastic 2 hr ride from the stables through the spanish moss covered trees own to the beach and then a nice ride on the beach and back. Was a beautiful day and Lauren, our leader, did an excellent job. We had an experienced group so no issues. The horses were fantastic and well mannered. The two favorites for us were Bandit and Cowboy. The stables have just been sold to Fripp Island owners who are said to want to increase the riding trips available. All the horses we saw looked in great shape and it was clear much care was given to them. Let's hope the new owners keep it up. We would go back and do this again in a heartbeat.

My daughter and friends could not wait to take a trail ride to the beach. The ride there was beautiful! The beach was beautiful and we saw dolphins just out in the water. We had a mix of beginner and advanced riders. The horses were all well behaved and knew their job and happily did it well. Great two hour morning ride!

Maddie was an amazing instructor and went out of her way to schedule a special lesson for our daughter! She was knowledgeable, selected a horse that fit well with our 4 yr olds skill level and ensured a safe yet challenging lesson. Her genuine kindness, paired with her excellent horsemanship made this a perfect experience!

This company is refusing to refund me over $400 for their mistake. Scheduled ride for 4 at 10:00am the next day through their website. Received call from manager at 9:00pm that evening with schedule conflict. Offered to cancel, but manager stated he would call back in the morning to let us know whether they could accommodate us or not. I called the manager back at 9:30am and left a message that we would be cancelling and requested my card be refunded since we had not heard back from him. A few weeks later, I contacted the owner and she was only willing to refund $125 for one rider, claiming that they had horses ready and waiting for us. We would have been there, had the manager not contacted us the night prior. If you choose to ride with this company, pay in person at the time of your session. But I would highly recommend finding another service.

We were coming to Harbor Island for a week at the beach and I realized that there were so many other fun things to do too. I contacted a friend I hadn't seen in nearly 40 years who lives nearby and talked her into horseback riding on the beach. We had such a good time and our guide, Sean, couldn't have been more helpful and patient. What a way to enjoy a beautiful low country afternoon. If you like horses, don't miss it.
