We were visiting family in Faulk County around July 4th, 2018. The town had a great parade and then we went to the carousel. What fun the kids had and I even rode on a bench seat when the carousel was going around and around. Bonus...it was Free! Thank you volunteers.

We had a very lucky opportunity to ride on the Carousel as Bill Becker was waiting for some school children to come for their end of term treat. It was fun to ride the carousel and also that Bill opened the Historical Society Museum specially for us so that I could find out more about my G.G. Uncle who settled in Faulkton. It made for a wonderful unforgettable day.
Thank you

A prime example of the carousels that traveled all over the US with carnivals. This is a 1927 model. It operates Memorial Day to Labor Day, on Wednesday evenings, Saturday and Sunday afternoons & evenings. Donations are accepted for rides. Length of ride is up to the operator but you can ride multiple times. Some times the kids will ride for the whole time it is open, with stops to take on and let off.
Also the back wall of the building housing the carousel is a pictoral view of Faulk County. Orginially painted on the side of a building in 1989, it was moved to the carousel building and repaint by high school students with the help of the orginnial artist. The mural was a project celebrating the state's cenntenial and sponsored by the SD Art Council.
