We went to the Point park, but not much to see, we also went to the Rock City garden, which is much more expensive for the admission fee, but there is some view you can't see without entering the Rock city garden. If you just want to see the Tennessee river, or you want to see some battle-related things, you can go to Point park or even some place without admission fee. But if you look for some attractions/sight-seeing or things for visitors, then need to pay more

What more can you say? I did not jump off lovers leap but I did look down. Great weather and low attendance the day we were there made it enjoyable.

Great small national park of a civil war battle field. Spend a little time to see where the units were located and what took place. It was very informative and enjoyable.

The views from the top are beautiful and there’s so much to do in the area. We went to Rock City, rode the incline railway and visited beautiful Ruby Falls. All of those were well worth the visit.

We were vacationing and stopped for the night in the area of Lookout Mountain off I-24. We decided to drive up to see and experience Lookout Mountain late in the day hoping to see a sunset too. We paid to park near the entrance, after having seen some neat residences perched on the hillsides and hilltop on the way up. Although this historic National Park was not manned, we entered feeling good we had our National Park pass with us.
What a "neat" piece of realistate some 1300 feet above the river and sprawling city of Chattanooga below. We walked the grounds, enjoying the view with war remnants and learned of the battles fought here for the "high ground" in the 1860's by the South and the North during the Civil War.
We searched out the restored Craven's House perched on the cliff face on our way back down, which was a crucial spot for the attacking troops.
We decided to pass by Ruby Falls on the way, which appeared to be more visited, based on the full lots. We also are not big on cog railways, so we tested our transmission and drove up. Glad we did. It let us explore the many cool houses located here "up in the clouds".

Stunning views! A must see and do in Chattanooga. Very interesting drive around this mountain, offering wonderful views, many places to visit, Rock City, Ruby Falls, Point Park, the Incline and a Starbucks at the very top! I am sure there is a lot more as you drive around and around and around. Loved it!

The uniqueness is possibly worth the experience. (Especially for young families to show their children. ) Though our tickets were for a specific time, we waited outside for 45 min - 1 hour before boarding. Once on top, a shabby “gift shop” is what you walk in to. Observation decks were closed due to ice. (No fault of railway) There was nothing else there. Within walking distance more things were available. However, you could drive to the top without using the railway. For those with balance and ambulatory issues - I would not advise taking the railway due to the steepness of the incline entering and exiting the car.

Can you hike to lookout mountain

You can but its a long one. Use Google maps or a hiking map site of your choice. I went to the state park at the top and it was good exercise just walking around the park to all the lookouts. It is quite steep
Are there quided tours?

I'm sorry I can't answer your question. My girl scout troop and I did a tour with the tour company that we purchased as a package trip.
How old are these answers? I just emailed them yesterday to ask about bundles and they said they don't offer any. 12/7/21

I don't think they offer bundles. I inquired on-site and was told no.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. I will be visiting Lookout Mountain soon, mainly for Rock City. I am confused about the starting point and parking. Please note, I will NOT be going to Ruby Falls(been there done that), but I definitely want to go to Point Park, and so my questions are...
1. Is Lover's Leap and Point Park the same, or different? If they are different are they in the same area?
2. Should I park at Point Park and then make my way to Rock City, or vice-versa and can this be done on foot? OR,
2a. Would I need to leave Park Point via car and go to another location to park for Rock City(vice-versa)?
I also plan to go to the Incline which I read is closer to Point Park.
Thank you for your time!!!

We've never been to lookout Mountain, difficulty walking far distances&with a 5 yr old, do you recommend the trollie&are children allowed on them. Also at what point would you recommend to get the most bang for your buck at the Mountain?

There are no trolleys, however there is a tram ride to the top for $15/person. Better to drive up to the entrance Take the "handicap" trail. Less walking and fewer stairs and you basically get the same view. Stroller friendly also
