Elizabeth Castle was the one of the highlights of my Jersey trip. Mr. Harvey gave a superb performance. Witty, informative, and super passionate about Jersey history. Truly amazing. Learned so much about the history and ts importance in the world. The walk during low tide was incredibly beautiful as well as the ride on the amphibious vehicle on the way back during the high tide. If you love beaches, history (i.e., English, French, World War II, Nazi occupation, American), great food, delicious local beer and cider, cool pubs, Jersey cows, lighthouses, quaint villages, friendly people, and breathtaking views, then Jersey is a must see and do. PS - Always check the tide schedule. It changes rapidly and intensely.

A lovely day spent at Elizabeth Castle. We spent 4-5 hours exploring & taking in the incredible views. The history telling of muskets & canons through the fabulous (& funny) story telling skills of the Gunner Sergeant made the trip an extra memorable one!

A rather unexpected amazing day out with a 13 yr old girl and 15 yr old boy. The weather was naff but we ventured out to be greeted with a 12 Noon talk on life during the Spanish Armada. The tour guide was exceptional. In character, full of knowledge and great with the kids!!! Fired a Musket and a flipping CANNON. Brilliant afternoon out!

We walked across the causeway to reach the castle. We wanted to watch the cannon getting fired- there was a musket demonstration first which I wasn’t really interested in seeing- however, the soldier was so fantastic! He acted his part so knowledgeably and with so much humour that it made the whole visit! He engaged the crowd and made the history memorable. I can’t recommend it enough! It was so cool and then the ferry back!

We enjoyed the trip over in the amphibious vehicle, especially the safety video! Fabulous interactive demo of musket firing and cannon firing at the Midday Parade; made the visit much better than expected for our 8yo. Lots to explore, great view from the top. It was a shame we couldn’t book online and secure a particular timed crossing. We had to wait 40 mins because a group had “phoned ahead”; even though they hadn’t paid anything so had to barge to the front of the long queue 🤷♀️

We are currently reviewing booking procedure's with regards to larger groups using the ferry's, in order to resolve this. We thank you for your patience and we are glad that you enjoyed your overall experience of the ferry ride and the castle.

Went on 19/10/23, a lot of history, very interesting to learn, great demonstrations, friendly staff that know a lot about the castle and history. Definitely worth a visit

Went out on the amphibious vehicle which was fun. The site is so much bigger than it appears from the main land. Interesting exhibits. Had the talk about the castle life and firing a musket and a cannon. The actor was brilliant so knowledgeable and engaging. Spent far longer on site than we expected.

Very interesting visit to Elizabeth Castle today; from the amphibious vehicle experience to the fascinating and entertaining one hour tour/talk which was most excellently delivery by 'King Charles II'! We loved it!

Took the amphibious vehicle for the 10 minute drive/sail as the tides were high. A great way to approach this Castle which has evolved over its 500 years (or 1500 if we go back to St .Helier himself!). Received a warm welcome on arrival then set off exploring. Wonderful views and so much to see. Much larger that it appears from the main island (so allow time to roam). A highlight was the demonstration by the 'Georgian' soldier (Michele), who gave an absorbing and amusing overview and went on to fire a musket and the 'One o'Clock Cannon' (blanks!), keeping the audience fully involved.

Anything really but would suggest trainers probably best choice Not flip flops as a good few stairs to climb

Hi we are visiting Jersey at the end of November, unfortunately when Elizabeth Castle, is no longer open. Does anyone know if we would still be able to walk across to the castle if tide is out?

Yes, you can walk to the castle however you can’t actually go in the castle. I think it’s not necessarily worth the trip without the full visit.
You could try searching Gorey Castle, which is a castle on the east side of Jersey which is equally as important.

As far as I know. There is a good coffee shop there and certainly plenty of space. Worth contacting the attraction direct to be sure. Enjoy.

Hi, the castle is now closed until Spring 2018. You can still visit Mont Orgueil Castle in Gorey (open Friday to Monday).

Walk to castle at low tide, how long does it take? Does it slippery and do we need wellies? I'm planning to just wear trainers if it's ok, but really want to experience the feeling of walk out at low tide. Thanks!

Trainers will be OK,it is slippery if seaweed is on the walkway but you can walk on the sand and depends on how fast you want to take it but no more than 15 minutes on a slow pace
