‪Quirky and interesting house and history in lovely grounds‬

‪This unusual house is worth visiting not just because it is unusual but because it has the best radiator and sink and views. The volunteers are so enthusiastic too.
We had refreshments in the garden.
Well worth a visit‬

‪Great property but please bring the tea rooms back!‬

‪Unique property - very welcoming and intriguing to my children who love to collect shells! We love the freedom to use the piano too - very special . We understand why the shell gallery can't be visited but my 8 year old asked me to write that she'd love to go up there one day, especially as so much money has been spent on repairing it. She says she promises to be careful!

The hut does nice food but we really miss the old tea rooms! We hope they will reopen one day as they were an attraction in themselves with a lovely view - knowing that you can eat and drink indoors gives you confidence to make a day of it when it's raining.

Thanks to all the staff and volunteers who work hard to look after this place. The bookshop and shop are well appreciated and we've dropped by in the past just to buy presents as we live locally and the selection is so good. ‬

‪We visited in June 2022, cycling from Lympstone.
What a charming experience it was to visit A La Ronde. The house was fascinating and the gardens moreso.
We enjoyed a good toasted sandwich from the "horse box" and sat in the sunshine in the garden.
The second-hand book shop was lovely, and I enjoyed a lot of time scanning the shelves for treasures.‬

‪Enjoyed A La Ronde a very interesting house with a very interesting story, the girls that lived there were cousins and the did the Grand Tour and were also avid collectors, loads of shells and the gardens are excellent.‬

‪Interesting and unusual NT property‬

‪Unusual 16 sided building with great garden views across the Exe estuary, with plenty of tables to enjoy a coffee - appeared to be from an independent provider based in a truck. Tours are self guided but begin with a short talk and the initial guide Peter was excellent - to the point and making it really interesting. Guides in some other rooms can be asked questions and were fully aware of the history. Good second hand bookshop‬

‪Beautiful house and the story of the two ladies who designed and lived in it is inspirational! Fantastic design I could actually see myself living it in. If I ever win the lottery I’m getting something like this built!‬

‪Lovely place to visit‬

‪Visited while holidaying in Exmouth. A great, quirky house steeped in history. The volunteers had so much knowledge and it was a delight to listen to them tell the story of how it came to be in the possession of the national trust. We also did a guided tour of the grounds with the very knowledgeable Nick. What a delightful day.‬

‪Whilst staying in Devon and being in the National trust we pre booked a visit to A La Ronde, so glad that we did.
One of the best houses we have visited very unique and definitely worth a visit.
Knowledgeable staff.
Tea room
Gardens.
Only drawback, its down a single track lane
