Worst experience ever by Mark
my worst experience visit to almond Valley this afternoon at 12noon. Bought 4 tickets 1 adult 3 kids paid £42 in total.
We were having a great time till kids started complaining about being very cold as it was absolutely freezing today so we thought lets go to cafe and have nice cup of tea so we went it was 4 of my friends with 9 kids 2 under 3 so we put them in the play area my 2 year old has many allergies so we always carry her food i knew no picnic allowed as I have been going to almond Valley for many many years, so I knew not to have anything but with my toddler we had to be careful. So after getting my coffee we all sat down giggling away i opend my toddlers box of food thqn the man called Mark in cafe ran towards us and started screaming that we can't have food from outside he didn't let me explain and walked away after shouting at us we all felt very uncomfortable, I put my toddlers food away and starting having my tea and we sent the wee ones to the play area then he blamed us for not paying for the play area which is only £2, he had a young member of staff with him who he told to keep an eye on us Mark and the young staff kept staring at us the way he was walking by us like he wanted us to open that food box again so he can ask us to leave we are all professionals 2 of my friends are doctors other one is a dentist i myself is a project manager and the disrespect we received made me felt maybe it's because colour of our skin as there were some other people went in the play area without paying. We literally left straight after that I love almond Valley it's my kids favourite place but staff are not doing what they are supposed to do instead they make customers feel bad.

Visit Almond Valley around 3-4 times per year and our latest was visiting Santa last week. Plenty to do in Almond Valley and the kids won’t be bored. Plenty of indoor and outdoor activities and you can easily spend the full day here. The cafe seems to have an even better menu and the prices are reasonable. Staff are friendly and welcoming.
Softplay is a very small extra charge with session times which we made use of however the majority of things are free.
Highly recommend Almond Valley whether it be on a sunny day or rainy day. It’s easy to find and plenty of parking which is free.

Second visit to the park in three years and nice to say that changes are taking place. A few new activities which takes the kids attention along with a theme of Halloween. Staff all very good with children and although we didn't have the best of weather, there were enough areas of cover to ensure we didn't get too wet.
A must go to attraction that doesn't cost the earth and enough to do for a full day out.

A really enjoyable family day out visiting Almond Valley.
Our little one enjoyed seeing the various different animals that live in the centre and made full use of the large bouncy castle.
There are numerous, decent sized and well equipped play areas within the centre for children of various ages, including the newer area which has the trampolines and covered play area etc.
There is ample free parking on site and a large cafe with a decent selection of fresh food and a childrens menu. There is a small gift shop at the reception with toys etc for children.
Overall, a good day out for the little ones

Great day out for the kids (7 & 9), plenty of activities, play areas, go karts, trampolines etc and selection of farm animals. Small museum exhibition at the entrance is interesting and kids enjoyed crawling around the tunnels. Booked Lama trekking - kids really enjoyed it.The handler, Natasha, was really knowledgeable and great with the animals and kids - good length of time walking the lamas and kids enjoyed feeding them too.

I went recently with my in-laws and toddler. Unfortunately we didn’t have great weather but that’s Scotland for you!
As a relatively new Mum (son is 2) I’ve enjoyed exploring lots of new places with my little one! I did feel compelled to write this review as I really felt out of all the places we’ve been this was the biggest rip off for families. In comparison to places like Clyde Valley where everything is included in the price I would much rather give my money there! The entrance fee isn’t cheap and everything in the park was a charge. £2 per person for a train ride that literally goes nowhere and nothing to see! (Unlike Clyde Valley where you’re in amongst animals and it goes round the whole
park). Entrance fee to the soft play which is a tiny cramped area for toddlers - really actual daylight robbery when I think about it.
The animals were nice and I understand that the upkeep and care of them costs money and the animals did all look very well looked after! However, I just left feeling like the prices were just there to rip families off which just doesn’t sit well with me. Also not a lot to do for toddlers but perhaps more suitable for older children. wouldn’t recommend this at all and would say save your money for another park!

Took our four year old to Almond Valley for the afternoon and had a brilliant time. Very much catered for kids and judging by his enthusiasm and smile on his face exploring the farm and play areas we will definitely return. Bike track was a personal highlight for me!

Booked Santa visit for our two youngest which would have been great if weather hadn’t been absolutely appalling. Obviously out of anyone’s control but had to pay extra £40 for park entry on top of the Santa fee. Think perhaps the outdoor nature of park needs to be considered in pricing structure when charging for entry. Even the soft play was extra! Also no hot drink/mince pie included in entry fee which seems to be standard for most other Santa experiences. No photo or anything included. Cafe prices pretty high for what’s on offer. All in all, not a very festive outing and pretty poor value for money. Would have been fine as an add on to a day in the park but essentially paid £100 quid for a couple of minutes with Santa. Other family adventure parks definitely offering superior options…

Not sure what we would find, my daughter took my wife and I (along with her youngsters and wife) to this attraction and giving that it is not full of massive rides etc., it does provide an enjoyable day out.
Clearly running as a charitable type organisation rather than purely commerial gives a much more personal feel to it. They do have plenty to occupy every age and you can easily spend 3-4 hours here, even in pretty poor weather.
When we arrived, it was a halloween theme with a number of features geared to the festivities of the event. Apparently they change many of the exhibits to reflect the season.
Staff were very good, friendly and where necessary, helpful in answering questions or pointing the way and the feeling that you don't have to have your hand in your pockets constantly, is a bonus.
Certainly worth every penny (and that was in a pretty dreich day).

What are the subterranean trolleys and the zip through the trees?
كُتب بتاريخ 16 أبريل 2019
I think the subterranean trolleys are the ‘go carts’ down the far end. They have tracks set up - I think 3 or 4 across and the kids can race each other down. You carry your cart up and then ride down going through a tunnel.
The zip is the flying fox which was a little bit further on.
Hope that helps.

As a charity for learning and heritage, we aim to maintain admission charges at levels that are affordable to all, (just compare our prices with those of other farm parks in Scotland). Standard day admission charges are:
Adults £8.50
Retired (state pension age) £6.50
Children (aged 3-15) £6.50
We also offer a discount for larger family groups,
2 adults and 2 children £28.00
2 adults and 3 children £33.50
2 adults and 4 children £39.00
Unaccompanied children are not admitted.
Additional charges are made for play sessions in our indoor soft play area (£1 per 30min), and for seasonal tractor rides (50p per person) and train rides (£1.00 per person)

Are there a lot of additional costs on top of the entry fee? For example for go karts or feeding the animals etc?
كُتب بتاريخ 5 أبريل 2017
No everything was included in the initial cost. The only thing we paid extra for was lunch. Hope this helps.

How do I get there using public transporation?
كُتب بتاريخ 22 يوليو 2015
Hi, Thanks for your enquiry
We're about a mile from Livingston North railway station, and there are various bus routes that serve Livingston village. It's probably simplest to visit the Traveline Scotland website which can provide a timetable of services.
Best wishes
