Great small distillery with lots of history. We did the tour as a 14 and tasted quite a lot of whisky after it. The shop is nice and cosy and the staff are very friendly.

Great guide. Enjoyable drams of affordable whiskies. We have visited several distilleries on Islay and Jura and Jura is reccomended.

Very friendly and informative and a genuine experience, with a good wee shop and, in contrast to many (most? all?) of more "commercial" distillery visitor experiences on the mainland. A very refreshing change.

Fantastic tour guide who was really friendly and knowledgeable. Great selection of whisky some we didn't know about. Highly recommend this distillery and if you can try going by Seaplane (Loch Lomond Seaplanes).

We had a great experience at the Jura Distillery.
The landscape, the small and cozy gift shop, the freshness of the air but overall the whisky and the Jura people.
The whisky was superb and Rhianna was absolutely a star.
She is very smart, outgoing and very knowledgeable.
Always with the best smile on her face and ready to answer all the questions, adding the local stories and charming them with humour.
Highly recommended!

Rihanna our distillery tour guide was fantastic, very friendly, interesting, kind and so knowledgeable about Jura Whisky. We would 100% recommend going there. We also got our choice of amazing Jura whiskies and a beautiful engraved glass in a gift box each.

If nothing else the journey and the breathtaking scenery are reason enough to make a visit. They certainly do their tours a little differently, but it was enjoyable and the tastings were lovely. We booked the exclusive tour, but we heard some very positive rumblings from a group that had done the shorter tour while we were there.
We named one of our pups after this scotch and used that as an excuse to come. So glad that we did. We got plenty of history and got to see into many of the nooks and crannies. Being able to look into the barrel storage warehouse was a particular fovourite of ours.
I'd also plan to grab a snack at the Antler Bistro next door, the food and people were fantastic.

Knowledgeable guide, interesting description of the work, and excellent tasting samples afterwards. Unfortunately my wife's driver's tots leaked on the way home. Her coat smells great, but she missed out on the experience!

Really enjoyable tour of Jura Distillery with Rihanna as our guide. Informative without having to go into every detail and plenty of time for questions, to which Rihanna knew the answers. All followed by a great tasting experience to introduce many expressions to our experienced palates…..even including a rather special dram distilled in 1990, the year I was advising the owners of the business…exceptional! Good value tour with driver’s drams provided in bottles to be savoured later. Cheers!!

We did the daily distillery tour midweek in August and would definitely recommend doing so.
Thankfully we booked in advance as others tried walking in while we were waiting but the tour full and so they could not join. This is understandable as it is an old building and some spaces would not fit more than the tour maximum.
Our guide was very friendly, gave a good tour and was more than happy to let us try some expressions in the shop afterwards and chat to us about them. Having been at distilleries in Islay. some of which only sell expensive bottles in their shop, it was great to see Jura selling tasty whiskies at more affordable prices - we went home with a lot of whisky because of this!

Can you walk to Jura distillery once you come off the ferry or is it to far ....

It's about 7 or 8 miles from the ferry to Craighouse. A couple of hours each way, it's about a tenner return with the car.

It says on website closed from Fri 19th July but the 19th is a Tue so is it closed from then? And does that mean shop is closed or just distillery for tours? Thanks
