We visited them to get as much information as we could for our first visit to the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, one of Scotland's undiscovered treasures. The staff could not have been more helpful. During our visit we learned something we never knew. This small town in a remote area of Scotland gave its name to the element strontium. If you are passing, that a stop here would be wothwhile.

I'm not surprised the staff shared the story of Strontium with you - the geology and history of the area is something that they're rightly very proud of!
Glad we were able to share this hidden gem with you whilst you were there and I hope you enjoyed your time on Ardnamurchan - with your help it hopefully won't remain an undiscovered treasure for too long!

Called here, whilst minimalist cycle touring, in desperate need of accomodation. Very helpful friendly staff and all sorted in minutes. An excellent service.

Fantastic to find well stocked visitor centre in such a remote location , staffed by very enthusiastic and helpful individual. A real credit to Visit Scotland.

Knowledgeable friendly local staff. Exactly as it should be. Very helpful. Plenty info of all surrounding walks/wildlife/viewpoints/castles etc. This area is superb so get over there and explore it. Many thanks

Really impressive and personal service. I wanted to know where the nearest pharmacy was as the day before I slipped 10 mins from the bottom of Ben Nevis and had a very bad bruise on my face. Nikki rang the local nurses and doctors surgery for me as suggested it may a good idea for someone to look at it. She managed to get me an appointment with the local doctor in an hour. The Doctor was also very kind and helpful sent me to off a&e in Fort William for an X-ray in case my cheekbone was fractured (thankfully not!). I am really grateful to Nikki for her help and obvious care for customers. Thank you.

We went in to get information on the local area and the lady there couldn't have been more helpful with leaflets and ideas for local walks and activities and she even advised the best place for a chance of seeing the local eagle which we saw on our last day .

Huge thanks to Nikki in the Tourist Office, she was so kind and helpful and went above and beyond to help us when our toddler was bitten by two ticks. As the ferry was off we couldn't get to a pharmacist or the hospital very quickly and went in to ask for advice on how to remove them safely. She had removal tools but as my wee one was a bit scared of having bugs on her, Nikki called one of the local nurses to help and they were out within 2 minutes. My wee one was so pleased they were away and it was a huge weight off of our minds.
We also bought a mini house book called The Enchanted Castle in the shop and my wee one absolutely loves it and we've read it every night since.

What an absolutely outstanding example of everything we aim to deliver through the Information Centres across the country. It has been an absolute delight to read this and I very much look forward to sharing it not only with Nikki but with colleagues throughout the organisation!
I am so pleased that the ticks were safely and successfully removed from your wee one, and that with The Enchanted Castle you've been able to take away a souvenir which I hope will always bring back happy memories all of your trip to Strontian!

Our hand annotated map (thanks Nikki) became our bible for the week and meant we did everything. we wanted and more. If you are visiting, call in. It's full of information and very helpful staff. And, its beautiful place. Great scenery and wildlife.
