Nice small park, with a nice small kids playground. Little cafe shop really nice. Little pond. Looks like a small train and pedlo boats open other times. Nice for an hour stop.

Cafe was closed as it was the festive period so can't review it but the park was nice to walk round with the bridge over the pond looking over the sea. Sadly a lot of dog poo from owners who hadn't picked up. I am sure in the summer it's a bit more inviting

Lovely location on the shoreline by the small harbour. V well run parkrun. Excellent cafe - would recommend

After reading some of the reviews thought this might be something to do with the kids. Was very disappointed and only spent half an hour here. The park was probably good back in it’s time but felt it was run down and in need of some love. The okay park beside it and cafe were nice though.

As soon as we arrived in Stranraer we headed for the cafe and arrived just in time for a coffee before it closed. The park is situated between the main road and the coast, and is full of activities - miniature train, playgrounds, grassed areas, seating areas both in the park around the miniature lake, and overlooking the loch. There is a rowing club attached to the back of the cafe. Car parking is free throughout the town, with plenty of space. A great place to spend a couple of hours in an otherwise dreary town.

Lovely park and grounds.
The miniature train is very reasonably priced and takes you all round the park.
The other attractions are also well priced.
Given it was the height of school holidays and the weather was terrific I was very pleasantly surprised at how quite it was.
Huge car park available which is free but also some on street parking too.

Well this was just lovely. We had a wild ride on the miniature train (choo choo). It went a little bit faster than I thought and was a bit giddy after it. Thankfully there is a lovely little cafe over looking the European Irish Sea that I could calm myself down in. I had three bottles of Tennents lager in there and felt giddier than after the train!!! choo choo lolz. Anyway the place was immaculately clean, the staff were amazing and toilets clean (I cleaned up as best I could - sorry). Would really recommend.

As parks go this is a pretty good one with a fair few activities. Boats to peddle, pirate ship (on sand) to climb, small train to ride, go-carts to peddle, ice-creams, standard play-park toys, and space to run around. This is close to, but not to close, the sea as well so there are ferries and such moving around to look at as well. Some of the things cost money, but not a great deal all thing considered.
Well worth visiting, and even just spending a bit of time doing nothing while letting the world move around you!

The cafe in the park is modern, has very pleasant, friendly staff, AND excellent cakes. The miniature railway runs all the way round the lake and the park.

I use Agnew Park to walk the dog everyday early in the morning, it’s a great place to meet up with dog walkers and locals in the morning.
I have really enjoyed the events this summer in Stranraer especially the rowing competition, well done to those involved and the locals for supporting.
Signs restricting speed and access to vehicles would be better than excluding all vehicles. We have a fantastic cafe in the park, that needs access for less able and deliveries.
