The pool is ok but the surrounding areas need refurbishing There is a lot of swimming training going on here so always check you can swim at the times your going you always need a £1 coin for your lockers overall ok but not amazing

We had a lovely time here. As the kids around this area didn’t seem to be on half term we pretty much had the pool to ourselves. Staff very friendly and welcoming. It could do with a bit of updating/ decorating, but it was very nice day out.

My partner, 2.5 year old son and I went to the swimming pool the other day. The admission fee was less than £10 which I thought was reasonable.
The pool itself had 3 slides and baby slide. My son was too young for the big slide (green one). I was impressed with the slides and the layout of the pool.
A few criticism, the Ryan center looks very tired and would benefit from redevelopment. At the bottom of the slides were black spots, I was unsure if it was mould. The spa hot tub was off and the baby pool was not the warmest.
Overall it's a good swimming pool and my wee boy had fun which is the most important part. It's definitely worth a visit if you have children

I’m sorry to say, but this is most definitely, without a doubt the worst gym I have ever been been to in my entire life. I train for bodybuilding in Glasgow with a full-time trainer seven days a week and upon my recent visit back home, I had no choice but to attend the only gym in town, the Ryan Centre and was incredibly disappointed.
If you are a full time weight trainer such as myself, you will be irrefutably disgusted by the filthy quality of the rusty, out of date machines which are on offer at the Ryan Centre gym.
The entire premises is practically crumbling at the seams. The paint work is sickly and the general cleanliness of the place is just simply awful.
Most of the machines and equipment do not work properly due to their old age and poor keep. Rust makes pulling and pushing weights almost impossible with constantly ill-structured flow.
And on top of all of that, they charge £6 per person, per entry + an additional £1 for a temporary storage locker. For £7 a visit, I’d expect a lot more. If they do not do anything about the poor quality of their leisure facilities, I shall not be returning.

Had a fantastic visit on a rainy day! Kids pool was great and more than suitable for a 5&2 yr old. There was a special needs class going on at the same time in the main pool and staff were super with them. Staff super accommodating for us as well. Great family changing facilities with a seat to hold a toddler in as you get yourself/others changed. Lovely little slides in kids pool too. Can’t say enough good things about it.

Ran down, dirty, all slides were off, showers and hairdryers out of use. Lockers out of use you now get a big black box that you store your belongings in and carry to poolside! Ridiculous! Rude and unhelpful staff! The receptionist after taking about 20 minutes to take myself and my friends track and trace details- she went on to ask details of our 3 year old sons? Never anywhere have I had to give this as are 3 year olds really going to be contacted?. This place would be a good activity for children in Stranraer if their facilities were actually in use such as flumes, showers, hairdriers, lockers and a good clean. They would be aswell closing and stop taking people’s money for a half hearted swimming session. Do not recommend.

Been here several times now, great centre for stranraer all staff very helpful and friendly pool great for my grandson,soft play ideal, cosmic cafe food really good and all freshly made and cafe staff excellent and food good value for money A+++++++

Visited the pool with my 3 year old we only stayed in there about 45 minutes as it wasnt massively warm. Only the jacuzzi felt warm enough definitely felt it getting out and back into the pool. The slides were a hit with my daughter. Headed up to the cosmic cafe and Ryan's den the second visit to it in a week. The cafe food is cooked to order and arrives piping hot, is a good price and staff are friendly but again its a bit chilly In there. Ryan's den, weekends it gets busy probably as the other local soft play has closed but we had it to ourselves for a good hour. It's not massive so better for much younger children 5 year olds would be bored. Again it was really chilly.
So an inexpensive way to keep little ones busy for a good few hours but definitely layer up or ask them to turn the heating up!

As a visitor to Stranraer we found our selves in Scotland on a rainy day with 2 grump grand children. A quick google search brought us to this little gem in Stranraer. It has slides to entertain the children and a separate pool for serious swimmers. A great find and cheep to use. Only fault is the showers have no water power and we had to wash the kids when we got back to our B&B to get shampoo out of their hair. They also have a small cinema also which we didn't use as limited showings.

swim here 3 times a week yearly membership makes it cheaper ,helpful staff ,overall quite good .but starting to look a little bit tired,showers can be a bit iffy
