The Memorial Hall is a lovely building and the people of Criccieth are very fortunate to have such a lovely, suitable hall available to them for a variety of functions. I went to see the Starlight Players in July 2019 and was quite impressed that such a lovely multi functional building was available in such a small town as Criccieth. Keep using it as if you don't, you'll lose it and that would be such a shame. The only complaint I have was that the prices at the bar were rather excessive! £10.25 for a red wine and a G & T when the hotel only charge £7.70. They could also do with cushions on the chairs!

I was surprised at how lovely and accessible it was. Would have been difficult on my own as we had to go in a side door but the disabled toilet was fine (no hoist or changing bench) but could fit my wheelchair in. People there were very helpful and the Welsh National Opera was amazing. I will keep my eye out for other local events on there.

I purchased 2 tickets in advance for this Alice in Wonderland pantomime. Adults = £8 (no OAP concessions) and children under 15 = £6. There was a small on-line booking fee. However, the doors open up half an hour before the performance starts so you have time to buy tickets in the foyer.
On Sunday afternoon 21.1.18, Hubby and I parked our car around the corner (free during off-peak season) and queued up for the show. This historic hall is a listed buillding. Outside, we read the foundation stone laid by the Welsh/UK Prime Minister David Lloyd George on 5.6.1922. In the entrance foyer, I admired the colourful stained-glass window which came from a local chapel. We also stopped to look at the poppy wreathes laid in memory of local residents who died in both World Wars.
There wasn't any allocated seating. We chose to sit downstairs but there was also a small balcony area. The venue was clean and comfortable. There was a 20 minute interval half way through the show. They were selling light refreshments. The toilet facilities were OK.
We thoroughly enjoyed this wacky musical panto. The Starlight Players are a group of talented local people (of all ages, shapes and sizes) who are passionate about amateur dramatics. We admired the costumes, make-up and stage props. There was a lot of audience participation which added to the fun. Bravo!!

Have attended a couple of shows here and I have enjoyed each one .tickets are usually available last minute.

We were fortunate enough to acquire tickets for a concert by the local Welsh Male Voice Choir which is avidly supported by senior members Mr and Mrs Turfel, parents of Bryn. They both have strong and tuneful singing voices.
Although most of the singing was in Welsh, the passion, volume and vibration of the beautiful harmonies was goosebump making.
The hall is acoustically good, large main hall with a number of smaller rooms. We found the seating comfortable and the loos about average - clean but insufficient cubicles for the long line of ladies there at the interval.
This appears to be a popular, well maintained and central Hall for both private parties and public entertainment.

I've been to a few functions at this venue whilst staying in our caravan nearby. The local amatuer dramatic group put on some very good shows, sometimes great, and I notice they're doing a 'panto' in January which is vampire-based ! There are sometimes music shows (pop, classical and male voice choirs etc) as well as other activities such as keep-fit. The facilities are looking a little tired and dated but when you think it's the best part of 100 years old, one has to salute the local determination to keep it 'alive'.
