What a beautiful oasis in the middle of suburbia. 50 years ago this was almost my backyard - basically paddocks for cows. Now it’s been transformed with great thought and care. Pathways lead through the Olinda Creek and wetlands area with a good sized lake that is nicely surrounded by native bush and reeds. You can hear the traffic on Swansea Road but it doesn’t detract from the natural beauty. Saw quite a few joggers, walkers and a two families with young kids and prams. The paths are nicely made so it’s wheelchair accessible.
Nice spot to come for a picnic, games with the family or just to walk amongst nature.
There are bins, seats and some signage. Parking is easy and there is a bus stop nearby in Hull Road and some on the side streets.

Easy parking, flat land beside Olinda Creek and a serene atmosphere make this a good place to stroll and think. Local aboriginal connections for those in the know. Unfortunately signs of the early European settlement here are not to be found. The first egg of Victoria's state rare and endangered bird the helmeted honeyeater was taken from this area by the Field Naturalists Club who often came to this area..

The wetlands are an excellent place for walking and sight-seeing. The area is quite large and walking paths cover most of the area. It is a simple short walk along the road to Lilydale Lake. The area is good for brisk exercising or a pleasant stroll. The wetlands have many varieties of waterbirds and lots of other native birds. There is always a chance of catching sight of the elusive platypus.

The wetlands would be much better if they had a few more seats. Our visit was cut short because our elderly parents can't stand for that long.

really nice place to walk and relax, a lot less people than at Lilydale Lake - the only draw back is lack of toilet facilities.

Hull Road wetlands was established just slightly after Lillydale lake as this forms the main part of the feeder system of Lillydale lake, there is a walking track around the perrimitter with some rest areas .This are abuts both the lake and Lakeview Housing Estate.Lots of different varieties of birds can been seen including the occasional Black Swan it is a flat area so it is an easy placce for people to walk

This is a great bonus to the area, great paths and so much wildlife, so easy to get to and plenty of parking, I often bring my dog here and take a walk around the lake aswell, love to come on a Saturday morning when the gentlmen all have their remote boats out, so much to offer for so many people

Pretty wetlands walk with backdrop of mountains. A birdwatching paradise. I like to start further south off Swansea Rd (large parking area) and follow the Olinda Creek Path all the way to wetlands. TIP: plenty of parking at Lilydale Baptist church next to wetlands on Hull Rd
