The Cades Cove Townsend Winery is a true production facility. Like other TN wineries, they feature sweet wines made from local grapes. As an exception, their Legacy red is made from Chambourcin grapes and aged in a brandy barrel - very good. They also offer a Pinot Grigio type white wine made from local Seyval grapes that is very good.

Took a drive out to Townsend. Beautiful scenery and stopped by Cades Cove Cellars while out there. Nice place and very friendly staff.

The wine was tasty. The Sweet Red was my personal favorite. We bought a mulled cider to drink outside, and it was delicious. The drive in from Pigeon Forge was beautiful.

Very friendly staff and GREAT wine. The Rustic Cabin Red and Cabernet Sauvignon were my faves. You can do a small wine tasting for free (but you can throw a few dollars in the tip jar) to make sure you like what you buy.

First off didn't know wine grapes don't grow in TN. Second, the tasting is free. Third they have some really good tasting wines. My favorite is the Porters creek peach is awsome! If you like peach wine this is the best Ive ever had.

Great wines, friendly people, and very clean. We tried eight samples between the two of us and there wasn't one that disappointed. We left with five bottles (two to give as gifts) and just three days later are thinking we should have gotten more. Very great addition to our trip to the Smokies. The warm spiced wine was on a different level, but had to be consumed on premise. So, we bought the semi-sweet muscadine, old mill red, and Smoky Mountain Sunrise.
We felt very comfortable in the winery, as they insisted everyone keep their mask up unless physically consuming wine. We had to wait a few minutes for them to disinfect an area for us to try the samples, which we were happy to do.
Can't wait to go back to the Smokies, and visit this winery again.

Strictly following COVID rules--much appreciated!! Very careful about IDs and cleanliness. There are lots of sweet wine options here, if you like sweeter wines. Cute labels, and lots of cute gifts inside.

Great stop along the way. The facility and staff was very nice. One patron did not have a valid ID (expired) and was refused service respectfully - so be advised. Wide variety of wines available and tasting is free. Excellent covid precautions in place. Mulled wine w/ cranberry drink was excellent for a cool winter day.

Stopped over the weekend and were pleased they were requiring masks as ALL businesses should. Love the warm spiced wine!!

Hi Sarah...I believe they are open every day but you should check out their website or Facebook page to get the proper information as their summer hours may differ. Great people and place to visit. Oh did I say great wine tasting too! Their Reisling is one of my favourites and comes in a beautiful blue bottle. Enjoy. Cathy

Could not find out anything about the wines offered. How many - red, white, fruit - and a price range? Good reviews and plan to visit in the next week or so just wanted wme info on the wines.

They have a lot of different wines to choose from, Dry to sweet. Most bottles that I saw averaged around $15.00 a bottle. They do offer free samples. I like the sweeter wines. Their number is below. Im sure they would love to tell you what they have.
