Decent little hike up the hill to get there, but it’s not unbearable. It was a good small hike. The views from up top are awesome!

We hiked it and it was cool. You have to stand on the base of the cross to see the view though. Go halfway down the road you enter into the park to see the trail map.

Nice hike for those who enjoy nature and are in shape enough to handle the physical aspect of it. Wear good shoes and take water to drink.

Spring Break outing...took grandkids on Cross Trail. It is such a nice trail and especially love that they have a couple of benches to rest while catching your breath. It was a beautiful day & the view from the top was NICE! Need to try the other trails, one day.

We are new to the area... And thought this would be a good place to hike. It was a great place to hike.. And have a great view at the top. There are bench seats you can take breaks along the trails. If you want a easy hike to see the sights.. I recommend it. The local park is great too.

In the old days, the citizens of Castroville pilgrimaged up Cross Hill to say the rosary at the foot of the cross. Often you would find flowers up there brought as an offering. As kids, we thought this was the biggest hike and that it seemed to take all day. As we got old, it got shorter, but is still a favorite activity when we are in Castroville in the winter months. I do not recommend this hike in the dead of summer or you may pass out from heat exhaustion. The view from the top of the hill will cast your eyes down into the valley of the city. It is also possible to drive part of the way up the hill, thereby shortening your hike. I do not recommend doing this after a recent rain as I have tried and almost didn't make it down due to the mud. This is definitely on your list of must-dos when in Castroville as it is a huge part of the town's history.

Courte ballade à partir du parking, proche de la piscine municipale, pour grimper (pas très longtemps) pour être au pied de cette croix, d'où l'on a une belle vue sur Castroville et les environs

My girls, 7 & 13, like taking this hiking trail everytime to warm up for the more difficult trails. It is probably one of the easier and quicker trails in the park. We like to stop at the top and point to all the places we recognize from up there. You can see pretty far. There is a bench to sit and rest on about half way up the trail. Make sure to take some water.

It was a bit more difficult than I thought it would be, but not too strenuous (I'm not very athletic and I was only a little out of breath at the top). It was a bit of a dull day when we went up so we didn't get the best view of the city. There are many other trails in the park that we did not have time to do.

Very Beautiful View of Castroville. Quiet place to relax & reflect on nature. Hiking up to Cross Hill was a wonderful part of a much needed vacation.
