Let me just say. We fell in LOVE with this beautiful Garden. If we lived there I could see us being volunteers just to be surrounded by the beauty.
TIP: take water with you and snacks. It's HUGE we were there for 4 hours and didn't see half of it. Take it all in sit and while and enjoy.

Nice but a little disappointed because I was expecting to see more exotic flowers of different kinds since they are a Botanical Garden and charge. Also, some of the fountains weren’t working. The Japanese area, I was expecting to see more of Japan flowers but I only saw green plants all over. They do have nice areas to do pictures for special events all over the place.

We throughly enjoyed all this area had. From the beauty of the flowers & winding paths to the sculptures. A number of areas with info boards, boardwalk and child friendly areas. Lots of sitting areas to enjoy the scenery as well. The Rose Garden was so pretty with the Arbor to walk through and fountain. The Japanese Garden went in for ever .. not really, but there was so many areas to see & enjoy. Just a beautiful stop. We spent 2 hours but could easily spend more. Highly recommend.. especially on a beautiful day !!

It was a beautiful day so I guess that helped but really this place is quite a gem. The grounds were well set out and the gardens well maintained. There are a good variety of sections to visit - rose garden,Japanese garden, water garden etc.
The only thing letting it down is the poor quality cafe - but I’m just being picky! Leave yourselves plenty of time here if you can to fully appreciate the place.

Great peaceful place to walk and enjoy the beauty of the gardens. We went at opening which made it especially quiet and relaxing. A lot of Spring blooming plants and we look forward to visiting again during other seasons. Highly recommend.

The FWBC website says they have a tram and shows tram stops on their map. In Feb 2023 we went there and they said, "Tram? There is no tram, and we haven't even built the road for the tram yet!" They offered to rent us a 'scooter' for $30/day, but we declined -I think we would have needed one for me and one for my wife =$60 total!
We walked perhaps a mile to get to the Japanese Garden. The garden was great! However, not being as young as we once were, just getting to it was hard on us.
We also expected to see the Rainforest Conservatory, but it was closed. Their website did not say anything about it being closed due to setting up the orchid exhibit, but they insisted that the website did notify the public.
By the time we finished with the Japanese Garden we were worn out. They were kind and did offer to come pick us up with at golf cart once finished. We took them up on the offer which we appreciated very much.

We walked and marveled at the ornately groomed plants and koi fish pond. Very relaxing and enjoyable.

My boyfriend planned a trip to the Botanic Garden (40min drive from Carrollton) for our main anniversary activity. He knew it was on my DFW to-do list and the October weather was perfect, being Texas.
He bought tickets online and since we went in the middle of a Tuesday afternoon, there was plenty of parking, no wait at the ticket counter, and few other patrons. But some were available to take our picture!
We enjoyed walking around, feeding koi (bought fish food from the ticket desk), and taking photos. Using our map we visited every single garden, with rest stops, in about 2 hours. The Japanese areas were our favorite.

Holiday Lightscape no benches at end. I went with an elderly parent, and there were plenty of benches at the beginning but none for the last half when they were needed the most. Lights were wonderful though, but not very ADA accessible.

Holiday Lightscape was underwhelming given the ticket cost. I’ve been to other botanical garden lights for holidays and this was very disappointing in comparison. The path was also very crowded. We went at a scheduled time and still had to wait at a few bottleneck points, including at the “cathedral” lights. $30 a ticket for this was excessive.

How much of the area is shaded, like for a baby in a stroller?

There are some shaded areas however the summer heat would definitely be something you may want to consider.
Personally I would not take a child under the age of 3 it's a huge place and exhausting to walk just half of it.

During the day, yes. But it’s pretty nice around sunset (or sunrise, if you’re an early riser).
I am looking to take professional engagement photos here on dec 23rd. Are there still lots of colors in the Japanese garden during this time? I’d hate to spent 400 plus dollars on photos and nothing be in bloom.

There is not a lot of any one flower type blooming in December to January. Visit the link above to see what each season offers. It can get quite cold, as any of our eastern states do too!
I had a questions about taking pictures for an event. My fiance and I want to take pictures at y'alls garden for our wedding day. Is there a fee or any type of payment? We have our own photographer.

Everything you need to know is on this site: fwbgorg/photography - You must call ahead for wedding photo shoots. They will allow an individual to take casual photos. A professional photographer will have to register and be permitted to take pictures. Phone # on this site at the URL above...

I choose not to drive a car, but may I park and lock up my bike anywhere? There’s a unflattering comment left by an earlier visitor who was told to leave by Security. Thank you for replying.
Hello, thank you for your question, we have bike racks located at the Garden Center, due to our narrow paths and fragile foliage we ask that you do not bike though the Garden.

You are a short distance to the square in downtown Fort Worth, which is a great place to hang out for dinner and shopping. I recommend the Omni Hotel, but there are many others. Other great areas nearby - the museum district, the restaurants on West 7th, and the restaurants on Magnolia Avenue.
