Ft Worth needs a real museum - this isn’t even close- lack of exhibits- for very small children only- very disappointing to say the least

The museum is ok. A young child will be entertained for an hour or so but there weren't as many exhibits as I thought there would be.

A small little museum just outside of the Dickies Arena, this small venue really packs a punch of great information on subjects relevant to American history. Of course, there's plenty of hands on stuff for the little ones to get their science nerd on.
And, with Fort Worth being the center piece of stock shows and cattle ranching, there's a whole exhibit dedicated to the history of the cowboy and cattle drives.
So if you want to do a short day trip with the little ones or if you want to get an appreciation of basic science and Cowboy history, this is your place to go. Additionally, the Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame is literally next door, so take advantage of any ticket combination.

It was great to visit! They had tons of hands on things for the kids to do and learn, and now though September, it's free for military and up to 5 people. Some areas are being renovated, but there ears still tons of things to explore and see. Parking was $10, but for the entire day just outside the museum. In the same complex, you could visit two other museums without moving your car. Two stories, the second of which would be more for adults since they're isn't anything to play with.

Staff member was extremely rude to us and I had to get a manager to take care of it. No apologies were ever extended to us.

With one's admission to the 2022 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo admission is free to the Cowgirl Museum, and the Fort Worth Museum of Science & History which also contains the Cattle Raisers Museum.
This museum used to be called the Children's Museum and for good reason: basically the entire first floor is geared to small children. For that it is good. On the second floor is a planetarium, which is included in general admission. The current show, "The Black Hole" is a very good presentation. The rest of the second floor contains good exhibits about the cattle drives of the 1800s taking cattle north to be loaded on trains. The barbed wire and other displays are well done. Also on the second floor is the Cattle Raisers Museum. It is informative to the general public. Many years ago there was an excellent display about Temple Grandin; too bad it is no longer there.
There was no current special exhibition. We did not see the Imax.

My 9 year old and I didn't stay long at this museum, as many of the exhibits were targeted at very young or adult attendees. The exhibits were primarily reading and pictures, and not as interactive as we hoped. I felt the price was a bit high for the return, when compared with so many other fabulous more affordable museums in the area. Would suggest the Perot for better value.

Parking cost $10 but there are many museums and other attractions in the Will Rogers Memorial Center (it is an area, not a building). The museum has 2 levels. The lower level is the admission area, gift shop, and exhibits that are more oriented toward children. The upper level has the history and space exhibits.

Overall Disappointing . So thankful I buy an ASTM (American science Technology museum) membership every year. If I had to pay admission I’d be unhappy.
My Grand Kids did enjoy the limited exhibits. Favorites were Clifford the Big Red Dog, the Train Car and the outdoor play area.
The small, sculpture garden was charming.
On a Spring Break Sunday afternoon the museum was quiet ! Kids were able to play comfortably at all exhibits.
I did not expect the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry but this was a quite underdeveloped venue.

Ever since the early 1950's I have been going to see "what is new!" at this museum. There is always something new that opens up wonders and inspiration. This is a great gift to anyone who ventures within.

Is there an exhibit displaying the electromagnetic spectrum at this museum?

I do not recall one and I don't see it listed on the map of the museum or the events. I would recommend that you call them @ 817-255-9300 to ask this specific question.

Howdy,
I think it depends on the ages. For us, 2-3 hours seems plenty.
If you've got really young kids, they will never want to leave the children's play area or the gift shop. Older kids/teens will get bored pretty quickly. The exhibits upstairs, IMO, can be viewed in 30 minutes or less.
Also, next door (for separate admission) is the Cowgirl's Museum which might take another hour or so.
Enjoy!
