Amazing that this big lake/reservoir could be found on the dry prairie. But it is a welcome sight in this growing suburb next to the big airport. Lots of diverse reacreation activities to be found here.

We stayed at an RV camp on the lake. It was beautiful! At night, the lake is lit up in the distance die to the dock, and you could gear live music from a local restaurant. It was great.

There was not that much to do. It was winter time and everything was closed so we just went and stayed there for 1 hour.

Last night we attended Sunset Live at Meadowmere Park in Grapevine TX. It was a fantastic evening to picnic and listen to two live bands. We need to complement the organizers as it was well planned for social distancing and there were a variety of activities for all ages if your picnic basket and/or food trucks along with the music were not enough. We would highly recommend this in the future and will do this again. Great setting by the lake snd beautiful open sky all around you.

Attending a local animal rescue picnic at the pavillion located on Grapevine Lake. The parking lot and the grounds were very clean and well maintained. Although the weather was not very cooperate this May weekend day, it was still nice to be enjoying warmer weather and watch the sailboats across the lake. Hope to come back next year as well!

We visited the lake this weekend and had a fabulous time sunning and swimming. The water felt so refreshing on a 92 degree day.

Well, it is not one of THE Great Lakes far to north of Texas, but Grapevine is impressive in its own right. Many see it from the air on takeoff or arrival from DFW. On the ground, there are marinas and a large mall on one shore and several parks on the other. Just be advised, whether walking, jogging, or driving, you cannot simply continue along the shore from the Grapevine parks to reach the Gaylord Texan resort if you are staying there like I did. IThe Teaxan and its shore front events center is walled and fenced off so you have to either backtrack to the highway or the resort and convention center entrance to gain access to it or the other side of the lake. For less pretentious accomodations around the lake there are campgrounds and motels in Grapevine.

I've been visiting Lake Grapevine for 47 years and always find it to be a great, cheap outing, along with being a great place to cool off in the hot summer months. I believe all parks and boat launches have been recently renovated.

My daughter's in-laws live in the area and so I booked a guided fishing trip with The Luck of the Irish Guide Service on Lake Grapevine to introduce my eight-year-old grandson to White Bass fishing. I've fished with Omar Cotter a couple of times before and knew he could provide a nonstop, action filled fishing trip for a young angler with little casting ability. This time Omar was unavailable, so we fished with his partner Don Novak. As expected we each caught many more than our 25 fish daily limits, but we only kept about 50 total for four fishermen since that was all we needed for a fish fry for our families.
We met-up at Silverlake Marina and returned there for a cold drink and air conditioning while Don cleaned and bagged the fish we kept. The marina was nice and the restaurant staff were great. I tasted their cheeseburgers and they were great also.
The lake itself is about 7,280 acres at normal level, but was up 16 feet because of recent rains. I was concerned about this affecting the fishing, but Don said it wouldn’t and it didn’t.
The Grapevine Sailing Club was apparently sponsoring a summer camp, because I saw a bunch of their boats out filled with youngsters.

I came to Grapevine Texas on a business trip and certainly was not expecting my room to overlook the lake. It was quite large and it was pleasant seeing sail boats and other boats out in the water. We even saw a few water skiers
