Jackson street is an area that appears to be TRYING and failing, to attract people for shopping. Wednesday, mid November and more than half the stores were closed, which were mainly antique/ yard sale find stores. Fair amount of empty store fronts.
No one walking in the street, just empty and no life.
The area around Jackson looks very ghetto and sketchy.
Don’t bother going unless maybe there is some sort of event going on

Love going to market days! You can find a little bit of everything from antiques to homemade stuff! Even toys for your little ones. They also have food vendors. Make sure to take sunblock during the summer.

If its a nice day, it's fun to walk around and just be outside. But for me, it is a lot of junk.
Tons of jewelry, dishes, and junk. The food lines were long so we went into a restaurant to eat. I'm not sure what the draw is for this event. I won't be going back, but if you like flea market stuff this is the place for you.

I had a great deal of fun and the fresh food choices were wide and varied. I tried some homemade potato chips. Man were they good. I would go back.

Harlingen does a great job with their Market Days the first Saturday of every month. You’ll find lots of good food, live music, plants, farmers market items, kettle corn, and lots and lots of antiques.
My mom is 82 and loves to visit the vendors and get her exercise at the same time. We bought Avon, sweet bread, and lemonade.
I recommend you take an umbrella with you because the sun can be overbearing...but it’s worth it.
You’ll have a lot of fun.

Downtown streets are blocked off for 4 hrs where there are vendors who sell new to used items , a few plants, loads of food and great music. Vendors rang from professionals to Mom and Pop handmade items.

This is my first time to this event (which is held every 1st Saturday of the month). The street is closed on both ends and booths are set up everywhere. Found some good bargains on vinyls and books. Good munchie booths and fun music. A good way to spend a few hours.
