This place is awesome and best customer service around. We have bought a total of 15 koi including 2 shubunkin and have not had any problems or issues with fish and they are 4 years old.

We love this place, their have tons of koi to choose from, all are unique and heathy. The place is big and beautiful, many different ponds and landscaping set ups to look at. Peyton was very helpful, he went thur diets, feeding times, and filtration with us, he is very knowledgeable.

My wife and I visited the place at the recommendation of an employee at a local landscape business. I was amazed at the selection of product on hand and the friendly staff. Coming from an marine aquatic experience I recently ventured into ponds and was more than happy to see a local business that was very hands on and knowledgeable in what, how, and why. I will definitely be a return customer. Purchased Koi and plants.

We’ve been going to Water Garden Gems for years. It’s a nice family owned business and they try to help out each customer. The fish are healthy, they’ve got nice plants and accessories as well. It’s often just a place to go and hang out for the day to walk around and see the fish but we usually leave with something wonderful. We’ve bought many fish there and we’re happy with every one.

We built our first koi pond about 8 years ago. It morphed from the cute little plastic puddle we bought from Lowes to the 8'x15'x4' behemoth we have today.
We could not have done it without the help and expertise of Shane and his family at WGG. We have called nearly frantic when we accidentally added too much algae remover and damned near killed all of our fish for lack of oxygen. Shane and the rest calmly answerwed our questions and offered suggestions as how to remedy the situation. We are currently in the middle of a parasite invasion that more than likely came from some fish we bought at a big box store. I called Shane once again and, like Superman, he came to our rescue. I'll be driving out to Marion again today to pick up the necessary medicine for our koi.
We have bought (and lost) many fish over the years, but never did we feel that WGG was responsible for them - it was "user error". (I am reacting to a previous review)
We travel out to Marion about once a season to check out the new fish, buy a plant, or upgrade our equipment.
While we would like there to be a more local destination for our purchases, we are MORE than happy to travel to Marion to get the BEST fish and the BEST service.

Went to Water Gardens on Sat., May 12, 2018. Purchased a koi fish at $59.00. Sales person told us that koi were social and needed another koi. Purchased another one at $59. The assistant filled the bag with air and told us they were good in the plastic bag for three hours. Got fish to established pond that has goldfish. During the night, the second fish died. The other flourished. Called store on Mon. the 14th. Was told very politely that the fish was healthy when it left the store. Asked for a replacement fish, and essentially was told there was nothing they would do. The person speaking with me mentioned that it was suggested that the fish remain in the bag for 20 minutes in the actual pond and then released. I told him that the sales person never mentioned this to us. He replied that on Sat., they were often too busy to mention this! Oddly they had time to sell me another fish. So the poor fish died and they essentially didn't give a rat's tail. We will never patronize this store again. They also have a deal that if you buy three fish, you get a fourth free. It would have been much better public relations to give me another fish or refund my $59! No customer service and they don't stand behind their products. Healthy when the fish left the store??? How could they know that for certain? They didn't give the fish a physical before it left. I'm kidding but it was a bad experience. I feel badly for the little fish, Bonnie. Her mate, Clyde is flourishing and oddly enough is making friends with the gold fish. So they're social but don't discriminate as to species. This is one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING FISH FROM THEM! For $59 they've lost customers and created a lot of poor will.

Hi Carol, after receiving several calls and reviews from you and your friends, we thought we'd take the time to, once again, explain our policy. While the loss of your new fish is understandably frustrating, you'll find that our policy (printed on your receipt and at our register for your convenience) clearly states that we are not liable for exchanges or refunds on any live products, including fish. This policy exists due to the large number of uncontrollable variables in our customer's ponds. Because the fish was behaving normally when purchased, it is most likely that an external force caused his unfortunate demise. As to how we ascertain the health of our fish, they are routinely scraped under microscopes for parasitical (or bacterial) issues, and are visually inspected by a trained expert every day. Because we have not received any other complaints from this weekend, and because our fish holdings are still healthy, it can only be deduced that an external force acted upon this fish. We hope this clears up our process a bit! -N

We are in the process of having our Koi pond built and have been searching for a good place in our area for Koi and plants. Water Garden Gems is a 3 1/2 hour drive from our house, but we decided to make the drive. Best decision we made.This place is amazing! They have the best selection of Koi, pond plants and anything else you could want for a water garden. And also the best prices. The customer service is top notch. Everyone was knowledgeable and eager to help. Will definitely be making more trips.

My husband and I attended a plant meeting in Marion, Texas at a place called Water Garden Gems. To my surprise it was more than just a meeting in the conference room upstairs. When you enter the gate you enter a 3 and 1/2 acre world of fabulous water lily, koi fish and water plant ponds and fountains. This family owned operation offer tours and seminars for those interested in one day building a pond or water structure in your own yard or if you just want to be educated on the plants, lilies and koi fish. They also have a variety of concrete and metal yard art, numerous ponds of a variety of water lilies and plants, a huge assortment of supplies for any size pond that you may want to create and answers to any questions that you may have. I found the tour very educational and walked away understanding what both plants and koi need to survive in the crazy Texas climate. Rest rooms are available, plenty of parking. Browse at your own pace or follow an educational tour on weekends. They are open 7 days a week except major holidays.

Good morning is there going to be an event this April 2020 , well known supplier that came in from Anaheim California Andrew Moo was their i bought some beautiful Koi's from him last year , thanks oscar sanchez.
