The museum is very focused on the nautical history of the area. It was fascinating. Best if you like to read the information plaques. The video was good, too.

Very small museum with limited displays, also currently under renovation. Staff was very friendly, perhaps worth another try after renovations completed.

visited the museum and learned alot about texas maritime history. Definitely worth the stop. Volunteers were very nice and helpful. More history than I would have thought.

While we were visiting here on a rainy day and chose not to explore the outdoor exhibits, this museum’s exhibits are very well presented and interesting, for young and old! Their Texas coast lighthouse and petroleum resources exhibits are just two of many different ones we found that made this visit exceptional. The gentleman volunteer was extremely informative and friendly, which added to our enjoyable experience. Very glad we took in this attraction!

Very nice museum. It has a lot of information on the area. Upstairs a great display on the history of outboard motors. Go to the 3rd floor for the most amazing view.

We were looking for something to do on a cold rainy day and came across this lovely museum. I love maritime history so it was perfect! It isn't a very large museum but there are 2 floors of exhibits and a third floor that is an observation deck to view the beach and the gulf. There are several hands on activities but some are still under construction and will open at a later date. My favorite part was the observation deck even though it was cold. I also loved seeing pictures of all the lighthouses of Texas...didn't realize we had so many! Admission is only $8 and it is definitely worth the price. I would love to visit again when they have all the exhibits ready...

This is one of those rare attractions that packs a lot of history into a small space. Here you will learn about the history of the Texas coast from a mariner's perspective on three levels with many local artifacts and modern shipping and oil drilling in the Gulf. A comprehensive library and outdoor exhibits round out this well designed treasure.

This museum is worth finding specialty on a cold rainy day, lots of interesting history & exhibits, the observation tower give you a great view of the bay, nice gift shop. The volunteers are excellent

Windy cold day and enjoyed and hour in the museum. Very informative staff. Many displays are in progress, but others well done and informative. Learned a lot and would take others back. We were visiting for a week and great part of the visit on that days schedule.

The museum is very nice. There is a large exhibit on LaSalle's La Belle, There is exhibits covering Maritime Commerce, The Texas Navy, The Gul Intracoastal Waterway, Offshore Oil & Gas and many other maritime areas. The museum is three levels and an outside viewing area on the the 3rd floor.

When we visited in June, admission was $8 for adults and $6 for seniors. And while you are there, don’t forget to visit the Rockport Aquarium (free) and Bay Education Center (free) – all within walking distance from the museum parking area.
