Love this place! It’s beautiful and the people in the visitors center were super helpful and gave us a great tour of the grounds and interesting history lesson on the area and the early pioneers.

L'Utah abrite la plus importante population mormon des Etats-Unis, c'est pourquoi il nous a paru interessant de visiter le 1èr temple mormon construit en 1877 dans cet Etat. Hélas, le St-George Temple ne se visite qu'au travers d'un visitor center. Ne pas espérer fouler le sol du temple, donc.
Cela étant dit, le Visitor center est agencé de telle sorte qu'on puisse photographier la façade blanche du Temple, qui est splendide, ainsi que les jardins. L'intérieur du temple peut être aperçu au travers de photos et de documents.
La visite est menée par de jeunes "soeurs" missionnaires qui expliquent à la fois le cheminement de leur foi et les valeurs qui les animent. Vraiment, il n'y a pas de prosélitisme. Elles proposent également le visionnage d'un film sur les valeurs familiales pour ceux qui disposent de 10mn.
En définitive, nous sommes ressortis plutôt ravis des échanges, qui ont permis de comprendre leur croyance.

The temple is under renovation and slated to open in Nov 2022. You can still see how magnificent the temple is. We toured the visitor center and learned a great deal.

The St. George temple is my favorite! It's beautiful! The grounds are very beautiful, as well, and so well kept. I had such a peaceful feeling as I walked around and looked at the beautiful temple.

We visited the newly remodelled Visitor Center which is now open. There are Missionairies from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints there to greet you and give you a tour. Nicely decorated and the Sister Missionairy was very well informed.

It was under renovation and fenced off so all we could do was take a few pictures. We hopefully can return for another visit when open

I’m not LDS, and never will be. I don’t agree with so many aspects of that faith. But all that aside, I respect many facets of the LDS faith. And the fact that only temple worthy members may enter what they consider holy grounds (the temple itself) is one thing I respect. You don’t need to be LDS to enjoy the landscaping around the temple, or to view the Christus inside the visitors center. When I need to feel a more direct connection with any higher power, this place is where I go. The people inside have done what they say, talked to me about joining and the gospel, etc. but when I tell them im not interested in converting and I just came to feel the spirit, they drop the recruitment talk, and talk to me like a normal person. You gotta hand it to the LDS, they have a super strong faith in a relatively young belief. They are good people at heart. Most of them at least. Don’t let any negative reviews stop you from seeing this beautiful piece of local history. The negative reviews seem to come from people who just don’t understand.

We weren't able to go onto the grounds, but could see the outside progress of the re construction. The back is under construction now. It will be good to see it finished.

The Sister Missionaries gave my wife and I a Virtual Tour of their beautiful visitor center. They were so kind, loving, friendly and personable. They were so good about answering our questions and we liked how they taught us about Christ with their beautiful Christus Statue and paintings of Christ. We would highly recommend you take a Virtual Tour if you are unable to attend in person. Clint and Sherry

Do you have to bring your own names to do baptisms for the dead?

I work in the Phoenix Temple and the answer there is "no", they will provide names. However, St. George may do things differently. Also, their schedules may be different.
