An amazing experience from one end to the other – so beautiful to see the scenery in sunrise, the patches of fog, the treetops from above – all with a pilot and a crew that made us feel like family rather than passengers.

Liana and team made our July 3rd sunrise hot air balloon ride a fantastic experience. The night before they have a 8:30PM decision on if the weather looks like it will co-operate. They will text you (or you can contact them) to determine the tentative launch location. We were lucky and the launch was at our hotel (Boars Head Resort)…which made it easy in the early morning so that we did not have to drive to the event.
One person in our private group doesn’t love heights but had no issues on this trip because Liana did a wonderful job controlling the balloon. Everyone commented how smooth the take off and landing went…it was impressive. We enjoyed smooth sailing over the countryside of Charlottesville. Lots of photo opportunities!
We landed in our target area (farm field) and the crew quickly packed up the balloon in the company truck. We were driven back to the hotel in the truck and enjoyed a sparkling grape juice toast (and learned a bit of history on the post-flight toast). I would highly recommend this company to check hot air balloon ride off your bucket list.

This was an amazing experience! Our guides were so kind! The ride was beautiful! I proposed to the love of my life on the ride! I was so thankful that I picked this company for the proposal!

Our balloon flight could not have been more perfect. Lianna is a skilled pilot and enhanced our experience with her knowledge and pointing out landmarks. Assisting with balloon inflation and deflation was fun. The scenery was incredible and we have many photos to preserve the memories. This flight exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend Blue Ridge Ballooning. Thank you for an experience will be never forget.

I loved the way this whole experience went. I had dreamed of taking this hot air balloon flight for over 25 years. Blue Ridge Balloon did not disappoint me! They added in different little touches to make the experience even more special; such as, flying right over the tree tops (the trees smell good!), flying over a river and showing us the balloon's reflection; and flying with another balloon so we actually were able to get a good perspective of where we were and how how we were.
I highly recommend booking your reservation with them to fill your bucket list, too!

Great experience ! Although our trip was cancelled due to the smoke from the wildfires in Canada which was on 6/9/23 they had a opening for 6/11/23 that we could fill we were camping nearby and accepted the date, well the wind direction changed and moved the smoke out of the Valley to the point it was safe to fly and visibility was very good. Thanks to everyone on the crew for this great experience of a lifetime !

My wife and I booked this experience for our honeymoon. They were the more economical option, but they also had fantastic customer service!
We had a great time conversing swapping stories and hearing about this multigenerational family business.

What an amazing experience with Blue Ridge Ballooning!! Celebrated my 45th birthday in the air with Friends- and Liana and her daughter Nicole who made the experience unforgettable ! From pick up to drop off they were professional and made us comfortable in preparing us for the entire experience! Definitely book your next ballooning with them! Thank you so much!

Length of the flight cost of the flight in October does any weather condition cancel the flight?

Hi there, thanks for reaching out! Flights are about an hour, cost is $250 per person for the sunrise flight, and yes ballooning is extremely weather dependent. Roughly 40% (much higher this year, unfortunately) of our flights are cancelled or postponed due to wind, rain, and/or low clouds or visibility.

Hi there! Flights last about an hour, whole event is about 3 hours start to finish, and cost is $250 per person for the sunrise flight. Hope we can fly with you!

What hotels do you recommend in the vicinity of the launch field? Approximately how far is Blue Ridge Ballooning from the town of Charlottesville?

Blue Ridge launches from a few sites in town and will advise on where to meet for the flight. Many times it's from Boars Head Inn but the actual launch from there is dependent on wind conditions. I would recommend checking out Stay Charlottesville for accommodations. They have a great variety of vacation rentals in and around Charlottesville!
