Excellent experience! Captain Mike went out of his way to find ponies for us to see and he was very informative and experienced. I feel this is the best of the wild pony boat tours!

Childhood dreams really do still come true! I’ve dreamed of this trip since I was five years old after I saw the movie Misty. After I could read I read the book more times than I could count. My daughter got us a tour with #UpTheBayPonyandWildlifeTours! It was the trip of a lifetime! We saw dolphins and many ponies! It was truly a bucket list success! Thank you Captain Mike! You are amazing!!

Only way to go see ponies. Captain Mike was terrific. Goes out of his way to make trip great. Very knowledgeable. It was supposed to be yo be for 2 hrs but he spent 2 1/2 with us.

This was an amazing tour with a very knowledgeable local guide. There were only six of us on the tour, the boat had very comfortable seats, we all had plenty of room. And, Yes! We saw the pony’s up close and got some great pictures. We also saw dolphins, and stopped to view eagles, oyster catchers, egrets, blue herons, cormorants, king fishers, ibises, and a pelican. I highly recommend this tour.

We had a fabulous day! Saw dolphins, an eagle, a herd of ponies, oystercatchers, gulls, herons, ibises . Capt Mike knowledge and love of the area was incredible . We recommend this tour!!!

This tour with Mike was amazing! He was well versed on all aspects of Chincoteague and Assateague islands. We saw dolphins, wild ponies, and bald eagles. And speaking of eagles, what eagle-eyes Mike has. Clearly this wasn’t his first rodeo! Having grown up in this area, he honed his skills and expertise, even knowing the names and behaviors of individual ponies. Definitely recommend Mike with Up the Bay Pony Tours! Thank you Mike for making our trip special!

We just wanted to cruise and enjoy the beautiful day and scenery. Well we started off with an eagle sighting , then the surprise of MANY herd sightings in very quiet and intimate settings and even a small flock of Pelicans nestling in a dune! We enjoyed learning about the “real “ life growing up on Chincoteague Island. Captain Mike was genuinely friendly and made us feel so very welcome on his smooth sailing comfortable Tritoon vessel. We went for the “ 3 hour tour” and would do it again. Thanks for making my mom laugh Mister Captain Mike!

Captain Mike was so very friendly right from the get-go. He asked why we were there and what we expected. I'm in my 60's and remember reading Misty of Chincoteague when I was very young. It started my love affair with horses. I have always wanted to see the wild ponies. It just took longer than expected. Captain Mike was raised in the area, so he knew all the trails to search for the ponies. He also knew the ponies by name and year born. We ended up seeing 4 different groups. It was an absolutely glorious day, full of information and amazing sights. It fulfilled all my dreams of seeing these fabulous creatures. I would sincerely recommend this tour with Captain Mike.

The boat ride was amazing due to Captain Mike’s stories and jokes. He clearly loves this job and knows a lot about the island.

Our host, Mike, really made our tour special with his first hand knowledge of the region. We were fortunate in that it was a beautiful day and we were able to see the ponies in their habitat along the shore plus dolphins in the harbor area.
