And two days before Thanksgiving it was surprisingly easy to get around. We found parking easy and were able to head not two or three stores with pre-Black Friday sales. Santa will be there soon. Nice place to shop

Beautiful mall. Lots of places to just sit and relax. I was just visiting for the weekend and happened to be staying at the hotel across the parking lot. This is one of the prettiest malls I've seen.

My wife and I shopped here three decades ago when I was living in Fairfax as a grad student at GMU. While staying at the Marriott next door for a colloquium, I figured I'd check it out, and it was just as I recalled it, and vibrant. When malls across the U.S. are dead or dying, the Fair Oaks is alive and well. I ate at the Dickey's barbecue joint and I'd rate it four out of five stars.

This mall in Northern Virginia holds a very sentimental place in my heart as I went here a lot as a little kid.
STORES: Something cool about Fair Oaks Mall is it has not one, but TWO Macy’s stores! One opened in 1979 with the mall (Macy’s Women & Furniture Gallery) and the other opened in 2000 (Macy’s Men). There was a SEARS and Roebuck, but with the controversial Chapter 11 bankruptcy, it shut down.
ELEVATORS: This mall has some amazing elevators! My personal favorites were both the glass elevators. They have epic A-flat pitched dry-powered motors! (Keep in mind they were OTIS until 2006 when Schindler modded them.) This mall hold 5 Schindler elevators, 1 Westinghouse, and 1 Montgomery.
Overall this place I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone in the D.C. area.

Lots of stores and eateries, but totally approachable. Not so big you feel overwhelmed. Public areas outside stores are always well maintained. A nice feature are the plug-in counters where you can power up your device while checking email or other tasks. A good selection of department stores and specialty shops. Loads of parking, some under roof. Easy to get to from Lee Highway or Rte 50.

The mall has something for everyone. Nice places to eat and all the popular store to shop in. Plenty of parking.

Whenever I visit my family in Virginia, I make sure I go to Fair Oaks mall for shopping. Stores like Macy’s, Lord & Taylor sell clothes of great quality along with designer clothing. There are great restaurants and fastfood chains alongwith play area for toddlers but the playarea is too small and even toddlers get bored after a few minutes. There is a great mexican restaurant “on the border” and the food served is divine. The quality of chicken at Popeyes is great as it is normally freshly made. The mall has everything from coffee shops, makeup, electronics food as well as clothing. A great place to shop

We shop here all the time. We have many favorite stores and eat at the restaurants often. Usually good reasonably prices. This is our go to mall.

Almost every weekend during my 2-month stay in Northern Virginia for job training, this is one of the best nearby indoor malls, whether it is cold or humid outside. It is convenient for studying and charging your electronic devices and the environment is pleasant. Lots of great name stores and Apple which some malls in the Bay Area lack. Ambiance is excellent overall.
