This place is huge! Not just books either, though there were tons of those too.
There were crafting items, stuffed toys, bible cases, jewelry, etc.
The only issue I had was trying to decipher the organization. I was looking for kid's books by Rylant and couldn't find a single one which I thought was amazing considering how many she has written. So definitely don't go expecting to find something specific because you might be disappointed.

The employees were very polite and friendly willing to help me find specific books for my grandson at great prices definitely worth the drive from Richmond.

Defiantly go! I've heard of this place several times. We decided to take a bit of a detour when we left our stay in Luray. We didn't find everything we were looking for, but we found some, and other things we weren't. My bill at other book stores or online retailers would have easily been several hundred dollars, but I walked away spending less than $70. It is a bit unbelievable the size of the place, go prepared to spend a while.

Great variety of books at excellent prices. If you love books, you easily could spent several hours there and still feel as though you needed to look one more time for more. Lots of parking and friendly, knowledgeable staff made for a really good visit. We will be back!

What a rare find. Before we moved to the area we would plan our visits when the Book Fair was open if at all possible. The range of books, Audio Books and more is incredible. If you love books and reading or are looking for great gifts and wonderful prices, you need to check it out. Staff is very helpful. Unfortunately they closed for 5 months because of Covid-19 concerns. Finally reopened. Missed going there.

Have been coming every year for the past few years and enjoy it. Get great deals. A person knocked over a book and walked by without picking it up. The employee on the floor gave me a nasty look like I had knocked it over. I picked it up and she didnt say anything.

We got this suggestion from the Harrisonburg Visitors Center and are glad we took the time to explore. It is only about 10 miles south of Harrisonburg and though it was crowded on a Saturday in December, but was plenty of parking and a vast selection of books at prices that were hard to believe. There are 2 levels and they cover just about every category known to man. I found National Geographics book on the Founding Fathers, that I had resisted at the regular price of $40,on the shelf here for $8. Another bargain was the great Dean Smith's The Carolina Way for $1.99 !!!! Needless to say we picked up a few Christmas presents and enjoyed the offerrings as well as the chocolate,bark,cookies and apple cider they generously had out for visitors. There also seen to be a lot of educational products, possibly for classroom instruction as bargain prices. Worth a stop and nice ride off I- 81.

Many teaching materials as well as gifts. Excellent variety of Bibles and other religious books. Much more than books - school materials and teaching aides. Amazing assortment of children books.

Check opening dates/times before going - not always open.
Publisher closeouts = great prices (most books $4-$6, even hardcover). Two buildings, one two-story (I missed the lower level on my first visit). MANY children's books, award winning books. Books are organized loosely by topic. Something for everyone!
About 10 minutes off of I-81 near Dayton, VA - worth the trip!

See answers above. Look on the Green Valley Book Fair website for the exact schedule and times. They are not open all the time, only certain times of the year, usually 10am to 6pm when they are open. Look for directions on website, can be difficult to find if you have not been there. Make a day of it and go to the nearby Dayton Market located in Dayton, VA. Have some lunch and a good Amish pretzel. Nice shops there too. Note, the market is usually just open weekends. See their website for exact times but they are open year around.
