I will put it on the account that we booked our tour to the Mombacho volcano very last minute (on the day itself) but we were very disappointed with the service provided.
We payed 70$ for 2 persons for a private tour to the volcano, what a disappointment. The volcano tour itself didn’t have to offer anything(no view, no animals, not much really) - that is not on the account of the tour operator - but the guide had close to zero knowledge about the tour, gave us zero explanations on plants around us - and didn’t even know where the entrance of the volcano was, we had to turn back to find it... also, we expected it would be private transportation but it was actually the shuttle bus to the top, and this took us a good hour of waiting at the bottom, because we arrived too late for the planned shuttle bus departure. Also some troubles with the taxi bringing us there... in conclusion we would have had the same tour by doing it ourselves, probably cheaper and more efficient as we would have been on time.
Next time please refuse to take people last minute rather than combining something veg very shaky!

We took this tour from Costa Rica and did a whole day with Camillo in Nicaragua. He speaks excellent English and is a really nice guy, it was a pleasure doing the tour with him.
We saw a fantastic viewing point into a caldera lake then went to the Masayo volcano which is active and we saw molten lava - amazing! We went for a really delicious lunch where we ate beef which was very tasty - I was surprised how great it was!
From here we headed into Granada. My only criticism here was the stop off at the museum of chocolate. I thought it wasn't a great choice and would much rather have had more time to wander Granada or go into the cathedral than stop at something that was super touristy and also not great.
The city is very pretty and we then headed to the lake where our boat took us out on the stunning water. We went to the monkey island and saw monkeys really, really close up - fantastic!
Here are a few things to note about this tour. The border crossing into Nicaragua is relatively lengthy although much better on a private tour like this, I would not have wanted to be on a large tour bus crossing over! It's also a very long day, we were out almost 13 hours so bear that in mind if you tire easily etc. You'll spend a lot of time in the car too and again, we thought it was worth it for a great day but good to know.
Overall we loved the tour and our experience with this company was fantastic, we would heartily recommend them for a Nicaragua tour.

Nica Green es una de las mejores tour operadoras del área. El precio es accesible y lo mejor es que ellos se adaptan a las necesidades del cliente. Una excelente experiencia... 100% recomendado...

We booked this trip at the Nica Green office on the main drag in Granada. Our tour guide, Camilo, met us at the hotel. The car was new and clean. Camilo's English is very good and he was very knowledgable about Nicaraguan history, politics, and geology. We stopped at the volcano visitors centre for a tour and some history on Masaya volcano then proceeded to the top, it's still active and you can see magma in the caldera.
There are no hiking trails, just the viewing area but it's very worthwhile.
Highly recommend this tour especially with Camilo. Next time I'd probably go in the evening.

This tour was excellent to say the least! The food, the people, the sights and the pulse of the country is something not to be missed. Camilo was a top notch tour guide who made this experience perfect. I would recommend Camilo for anyone thinking about this trip. The sights were amazing! Crater lakes, volcanos, city life, boats. You will LOVE this tour!

We did the masaya volcano tour. When you book, book with nica green;)
Camilo and Nuno are amazing guids, super nice hosts, and very funny persons.
I promise, you will not get boring with them. They know a lot about history, the landscape and the country. They take there job serious, with a healthy portion of fun. Try to get the best spot on the volcano for you, and might have some secret spots;) you will learn alot about masaya, the history and the nature there.

Leuke tour gedaan bij Nica Green Travels! Alles was netjes geregeld en het kayakken was erg leuk, mooie omgeving en goede gids.

We stardet our tour at 12:30 to avoid too many clouds for the great we really had. Maybe I would start a bit earlier next time to have more time for the longer path to walk and have enough time to make a stop at the local coffee plantation shop at the descent. we've paid 35$ each for the tour. I think this was okay since we had a very competent tour guide for the whole tour for just two persons. In addition we where taken to the tour start in a brand new car and a coctail and drinking water were also included.

Wow, best value for money tour in the whole of Central América. Simply couldn't believe that four of us paid $15 each for a tour from Granada to the Masaya volcano in a taxi sedan. It's about an hour from Granada. I couldn't remember the name of our guide as it was over a month ago, but he was superb. Knowledgeable, patient and more. I'd put up the price to $20-$25 if it included some drinks and snacks.

Myself and my Girlfriend visited Masaya Volcano with Nica Green Travels and I cannot recommend them enough. Camillo was our guide and along with being extremely knowledgeable when it came to volcanoes, he was also great fun and I recommend him as a guide.
The tour was well organised, Camillo picked us up on time, we were first to the gate and first to the volcano besting all the crowds.
If you are doing tours in Grenada, I highly recommend Nica Green Travels.

at what time does the tour to mombacho volcano start. Also do they have pickup and drop to hotels nearby
