You can party, you can dance on the tables, you can watch the dancers, musicians and DJ and you can blow all your budget or you can people watch. Whichever works for you. La Folie Douce has to be experienced but at £10 a pint, it's not a cheap experience.

20 ans et après 20 min accoudé au bar à attendre qu on prenne ma commande, la serveuse refuse de me vendre un pichet de bière, la raison : "j'ai pas les verres qui vont avec". Aberrant. Je retourne chercher mon verre et ceux de mes amis pour satisfaire les caprices de madame. J attends 20 min à nouveau au bar (elle passe plusieurs fois mon tour, et c'est pas comme si je faisais 2m et qu elle m avait pas vu...) Et là elle refuse de me servir à nouveau parce que je suis pas assez vieux de ce que j ai compris. Et j avais ma carte d identité !!! J ai jamais vu ça, incompréhensible, d autant que mon voisin a eu le droit à ses pichets lui...
A noter: ne pas regarder les vigiles quand ils passent à côté de vous, certains ont des tendances agressives, ma sœur de 19 ans en a fait les frais.
Vraiment dommage, on aurait vraiment pu passer un bon moment, je suis complètement écœuré.

Seems like the table service restaurant is not up to much but the self service restaurant is generally very good.
Entertainment always good.
Many of the Staff in the restaurant need to smile a little more and be more human!

We’ve been coming here since it opened, every season. The show remains great and because of that I don’t begrudge the Cap Horn pricing, the occasionally random service and the variable food.
In past years the kitchen has been absolutely on it, producing meals at a rate of knots for hundreds of covers, allowing two strict sittings. So even if the food wasn’t top notch you got a great show, on a sunny terrace with amazing views and swiftly fed. Sadly this year the kitchen seems overwhelmed - we waited 90 mins for our mains and we were one of several tables around us waiting. Come the end of our alotted time slot, we were still waiting for coffee having skipped dessert (first world problems I know….). As we finally left, we passed a lot of unhappy people waiting to sit down for the second sitting, many of whom must have been waiting 30 mins or more.
I wonder if they are trying to pack in more covers this year, tipping the kitchen over the edge? Our table, designed for 12, was laid for 15, to allow our group and another table for four to be packed in. If that is being done a lot it’s good revenue but potentially lots more pressure in the kitchen.
Whatever the reason, it was a pretty below par experience, our worst of the week. We’ll pay close attention to reviews before coming back next year.

Was served chicken which had blood in it- I ate part of it before I realised.The manageress said I had to pay for the part I ate!!No apology no replacement meal-absolutely diabolical.

Incroyable moment !
On a d’abord mangé à la fruitière ! Servi et conseillé par Sacha, un amour qui nous a bien chouchouté.
Ensuite l’après midi au bar ! Entre le show, la musique et les feux d’artifices on en a pris plein les yeux!
Super bien servi par Heïdi 😘 hâte de revenir !
Merci l’équipe de la folie douce pour ce superbe moment

Go elsewhere, indeed anywhere but here
Definitely a place to ‘be seen at’ by the trust fund crew, rather than eat at. Don’t bother with the food, it’ll take 90 minutes and come out cold and the order will be wrong. Absolutely atrocious. 7 people dined here, not one meal came out more than tepid, E800, even after the main courses were removed from the bill - rip off!!! All of our main courses had to be sent back, twice, and still cold. Prices astronomical. Wine was poor quality with huge/unjustifiable (x10) mark up on wholesale price.
Absolute rip-off, trading on its reputation. If you’re out on Daddy’s wedge (as most patrons are) you may not care, but I’d go elsewhere every day of the week.

From the moment we arrived until we left one thing went wrong after another. Incredibly slow service, wrong food brough to the table twice, asking for the bill four times and eventually just getting up and going to the desk insisting they provide it.
To add insult to injury, the manager came over to apologise and promised to "take something off the bill". She did nothing and we left in disgust, never to return

Avez vous aménagé la descente des oeufs pour un accès plus facile au restaurant. ? C'est compliqué pour les pietons

Ça fait parti du jeu d'être perché à 2100 mètres d'altitude, au milieu des pistes :-)
Cependant nous avons étudier plusieurs projets, c'est en cours. Nous espérons la saison prochaine.

We are planning to spend just a day in Méribel to visit this famous bar! We don’t ski and want to know how we can get to and from La Folie Douce from Méribel... This will sound like a stupid question to all you seasoned skiers but can we just pay for this single trip on the ski lift or would we have to pay for a day pass? Any other options? Many thanks x

I am not sure how you would get from the lift to the bar but I guess there must be a way. Hopefully someone can answer
