Piazza molto bella e caratteristica.. con tutto per colazioni , aperitivi, pranzi e cene . Il sabato c'è il mercato di paese e la domenica quello dell'usato.

The triangular shape of the square gives it a special character. It is lined with nice shops and fine restaurants (although the best are found elsewhere)

Estuvimos un domingo de verano descansando en la plaza en medio del recorrido, tomando una cerveza en alguno de sus bares, en el fresco de sus bancos, viendo como transcurre la vida en Greve

Square with lots of shops and bars, a bit of a tourist trap but nice to walk around. It is also where the tourist information is and the start of the 'Slow Road' walking loop is, which goes from greve up to montifioralle and round (takes around 2 hours and some bits are quite uphill). You get some great views on the walk!

Der Platz mit den wunderschönen Arkaden , in dem auch Schwalben nisten, beherbergt schöne Geschäfte , Restaurants und Bars, allen voran die wunderbare Macelleria mit typischen toskanischen Wurstwaren. Schön, dass der Platz den Namen Matteottis trägt, der als standhafter Antifaschist mit Duldung Mussolinis in den zwanziger Jahren des 20Jdt. ermordet wurde und beinahe das Ende der frühen faschistischen Diktatur in Italien bedeutet hätte.Einer der aufrechtesten Italiener.

This is the main square with lots of shops, bars and restaurants. A pity they do not make it completely pedestrian….

Under the watchful eye of Galo Negro is the main square of Greve in Chianti. Surrounded by cafes, restaurants, bars and shops. Interesting to take a walk, eat on a terrace or simply drink a glass of wine

We have been at Piazza Matteotti several times now and we keep coming back. We love it's historical feel, the possibility to taste local products and the lights in the evening.

From what I see, there are two. The Chianti Classico festival in Geve in Chianti for 2018 it is held the 6th through the 9th of September. The Panzanno wine festival one week later.
