‪One of a kind pottery, all made by hand and unique with sea themes and a variety of colours to suit most homes.

‪Lovely to find this pottery in an interesting building, looks like an old set of offices, or army buildings? Wonderful warm welcome from the proprietor, who asked us just to browse and take our time, chatting away all the time, interested in why we were there. Stunning pieces all over the place, well presented, easily accessible, and a range of colours for each piece. A workshop that evokes energy and creativity. Prices are excellent and artist well versed in Tiree culture.‬

‪My favourite pottery which is still running. I would love to throw out all our china and just restock using their stuff, but my wife won't let me. If you love Tiree you will love this stuff.‬

‪Located just off the B8065 which runs between the airport and Scarinish the pottery is housed in a large white building visible from the road (the access track is signposted for Odhnasgair).

We popped in for a look at the work displayed for sale which consists of handmade decorative items such as bowls, cups, jugs, vases, etc with designs inspired by the local landscape. Hares, black houses, sheep, fish, etc all feature and it's all tastefully done. Helen was at work painting a huge vase when we visited and was happy to let us browse around in peace to make our selection. The spelling of "Tyrii" in the pottery name relates to that found on maps at the time the Skerryvore Lighthouse was being built (there is a museum at Hynish which is dedicated to telling the story of it's construction).

Nice to browse on a short visit or to obtain a practical reminder of your trip to the island (the pottery is fired at high temperatures to make it oven proof and non-porous for home use where appropriate).

Open Monday to Saturday, 10.00am to 1.00pm year round.‬
