While passing through Roanoke, I noticed the church steeples and the church from downtown Roanoke, I walked over the tracks via the bridge to the Roanoke Hotel and walked up the hill to visit the church

I thought we were back in Europe when we entered this beautiful church. The stained glass windows were beautiful, the alter was exceptional, the church service was very nice, (I am not a catholic) but I enjoyed the service. I would definitely visit here again.

We were just passing through Roanoke and it was such a blessing to visit St. Andrew's Church. On a Saturday morning, the main doors were locked but as we circled the building, luckily we found a back entrance door that was open for access to pray the rosary. While the exterior of this Gothic chuch is majestic, so too is its interior beautiful and inspiring. The lofty ceiling and stained glass windows are works of art. We also were able to see the small chapel with relics of the True Cross and many saints. St. Andrew Church was dedicated almost 120 years ago and is a real treasue.

This is the church my family grew up in. 1st time back in 30 years and still as beautiful as I remember

Gorgeous church currently under major renovations inside. We arrived just prior to Sunday morning mass and the greeters were extremely kind on letting us take a peek. Beautiful architecture.

Go to the churches website to read all the amazing history and information about the church and stain glass windows. A must see. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful!!

A true treasurer of the Star City of the South. A Catholic Cathedral worthy of any European City. Take time to attend a Mass with full music and worship, even if you are not catholic. Ideal time to go is in the Beginning of December when they hold Christmas concerts.

Beautiful church, reminded me of Notre Dame Basilica in South Bend on the inside. If you are going to see it make it soon. I was told it is about to close for renovations that could last years. It didn’t look to be in bad shape at all.

We were visiting Roanoke on a “Geneology Tour”. Our mother grew up there and attended St Andrews Catholic school along with her siblings in the 1920’s. On all my other visits I had never gone in the Church. We were driving around and decided to stop and take a look. It is such an incredibly beautiful Church. I have visited many Catholic Churches in California andI believe this is the best.

Attended the noon Mass here on All Saints Day. I was pleased that it was a full Mass with all the music accompanied by the pipe organ. The building is over 100 years old and has been well maintained. It was a sight to behold.

I copied this from their Website today 5/5/20. I would wear masks to be respectful to others.
Church Hours:
Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Saturday 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Sunday 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Please note - Only 10 people are allowed in the Church at any time. Enter and exit only through Jefferson St. doors. While we want the faithful to be able to come in and pray, please be respectful of others and make way for new people to come in as necessary. Devotional aides for adults and children available, but must be recycled or taken home after use.
