Maybe it's not a true five star winery but I feel it deserves all five stars for it's character, charm and longevity! It's an old building and old winery that was once a top notch spot on the map. If nothing else it deserves respect for still being around!
A lovely lady greeted us when we arrived, she's been there 40 years and pulls no punches! She knows her stuff and is very matter of fact! Some folks don't like that but we don't mind, we found her super interesting and knowledgeable. She's got stories and was very interested in ours as well. We purchased a lovely rich and dark cabernet after tasting all the other fruit wines. The wines are delicious if you like sweet fruity wines and the flavors were pretty spot on, definitely worth a tasting!
Hoodsport Winery is also a Harvest Host spot with a great little field to park your RV for the night. There are some permanent RV's behind the building, that's not where the Harvest Host spot is. It was nice and quiet and we could even hear the creek flowing at night which was a bonus!
I highly recommend a stop if you're on this beautiful highway, if for nothing else than the history of it!

We are pretty experienced tasters, so we almost skipped this because they specialize in fruit wines. Our pourer, Peggy, who is an owner and has been there 40 years, is quite a character. Because of COVID, they are only doing free tastings, although they have small bottles in gift bags with two tasting glasses for sale. We chose the free tastings, which consisted of a white, a sparking white and a pinot. All three were good, not too sweet and very drinkable. Peggy offered to open one of the dessert wines but we said we'd rather have a red. She picked a 2010 red blend off the shelf and poured one for each of us. It was very good, but at $50, it was overpriced in spite of it's age.
Reading the other reviews, this place must be hit and miss. For us, it was a hit. I am only writing about our experience, which was good enough that we plan on coming back to try the ciders. The biggest downside, no indoor restroom, just a parking lot honey pot. Also, no seating in the tasting room, so you just stand at the bar or wander around the shop.

Very limited selection that they make and mostly sweet wines. Others imported from Oregon. May be good, but I good to local wineries to get THEIR wines. Also didn't post prices, which makes you wonder why.

This is a small winery that actually makes wine! Some of the grapes come from Grapeview to make Island Bell Ask to take a tour of the production facility

Hoodsport is a quaint little town in Hood Canal. ’d passed numerous times and today was the day to stop. It’s a quaint one room wine store with some tasting and lots and lots of award display cases. Jamie was very informative and helpful. Their best selling wine is $56 per bottle. I loved the quaint red wine press at the left of the entry. Grapes are brought from Western Washington and Columbia Valley and pressed and bottled here. They also have some nice maps, literature and I took away a complimentary Fjord magazine. Thank you for the lovely visit. Discounts are available on quantity purchases.

Really enjoyed visiting. The wines were flavorful and delicious. Tried a nice variety. Really enjoyed ourselves.

We visited the winery because we had a gift certificate for a Tasting for 2 and it was our anniversary. We were served by Jaime who was very nice, friendly and informative. We did enjoy the white, red and a fruit wines we tried. I would return with friends and then go to the Mexican restaurant Jaime recommended to try. The food was very good!!! Thank you

Not setup for a wine tasting. And my friends who bought expensive wine here said it was sour so they dumped it out instead of drinking it. Too bad

We were sold two bottles of apple wine that the winery was suitable as sherry or for cooking. They did not allow us to taste the wine. It was spoiled and made us ill. When we called they were defensive and stated tough luck. I guess they are staking their reputation on spoiled wine for small bit of profit. I hope one get ill from drinking spoiled wine.

Our family lives nearby and stop in for tasting anytime we have out of town visitors which is often. They also have some craft beers for sale. Prices are about normal for specialty wines. Nothing fancy inside and I wish they would paint their exterior sign (we hear that from lots of folks) and it doesn't make a great first impression. However, it is a nice part of our community and the Raspberry Wine never lasts long at our house.
