What a museum! The exhibits are well designed, there's plenty of parking, and the museum itself is free! Staff was helpful, and the exhibits were informative. It's a little out of the way to get to, but it's well worth it.

We learned a lot about the navy’s undersea operations from the past and happening now. Veterans would enjoy seeing the exhibits also.

Decided to check out the museum so close to our house. We were more than pleasantly surprised as this exhibit of past, present, and future was very informative and educational. So much information from oceanic temperatures to marine animals that contribute to our National Security! A very nice gift shop too. Looking forward to bringing family and friends here to explore more!!

So I took a day trip over from Bellevue and my first priority was the Puget Sound Navy Museum, then this place, then Turner Joy (Vietnam-era destroyer open for tours in Bremerton). I decided to start at the Undersea Warfare Museum then visit the two Bremerton attractions on my way back. Boy, was I surprised. This is a great little museum and was my favorite stop of the day. From the DSV that surveyed Scorpion and Thresher, to the info about Dolphins and Sealions serving the navy, and the torpedo display, there was plenty here for a history buff to pour over. There were sections that didn’t interest me at all, but the torpedo section alone was worth the visit. And, it was free! Great gift shop that opens at noon. This is right next to the Keyport NAVSEA base, but just follow the signs and bear left before the base entrance to get to it, no base access is required. Plenty of parking. I spent two hours here. Wasn’t crowded on a Wednesday. And, full disclosure, Turner Joy ended up being my 2nd favorite, and the Puget Sound Naval Museum my least favorite of the day… so you just never know! Very glad to have visited this place, only about 20 minutes drive from Bremerton.

Definitely worth a stop if you have an interest in military history (or people in your group that do). The museum is free, which makes it even more appealing. It also isn't huge, so the information isn't overwhelming for those of us without the specific military interest. I really enjoyed the exhibit on dolphins and sea lions. The staff were friendly and helpful

The museum is GREAT and FREE. When you walk in, you get a GREAT introduction. The museum is informative and entertaining. I am not a big museum person, however, I really enjoyed it. Well worth spending a couple of hours. It is interesting for people of all ages.

The day prior to us arriving in Bremerton on 05/11 this museum, as was the Puget Sound Navy Museum, was again closed due to a spike in the ‘rona. But the parking lot was open, and we were able to observe the DSV-1 Trieste, DSRV-1 Mystic and the sail of the USS Sturgeon (SSN-637). Looking forward to returning when this museum is open to fully appreciate the interior displays.
On a side note, it looks as though the Mystic has just been refurbished but the paint is not the original color. They were called “pickle boats” for a reason. They were originally a dark green color, not this “baby s**t brown”.

With all that goes on in the Kitsap area, I fully expected that the the Undersea Museum would be solely focused on submarines, although their displays include alot of submarine stuff, this is, just as the title explains, an undersea museum. Ecosystems, physics, mechanics, history and most important for the kids, alot of hands on stuff.

All about the history of submarines and submarine warfare. Great displays, lots of technical information as well as 2 deep submersibles on display. If you like subs, this is the place to go.

This museum provides a wealth of information in an understandable way regarding the Navy's underwater endeavors. It is informative and interactive. I highly reccomend it

Looking through their website, it mentions that they are open 6 days a week (all days except Tuesday) currently (from October to April) and for the rest of the year, they stay open every day of the week.
