Its a good half day trekk if the weather is not too humid. Views from top are breathtaking. Hire a jeep from the starting point as road is bad for self drive especially for sedans.

The lake is believed to have never dried up. You can find the lake halfway to the peak, after getting to the lake need to trek through about a km or two of dense trees.

Heart Lake is not so great to look but the views from top of the peak is extra ordinary. Wayanad trip cannot be fulfilled without visiting this peak.

We went in the December winter, Trekking to Chembra peak is just awesome. Trek is not very easy, but moderate. People can easily climb up to 3-4kms to touch Heart Lake, but it can be best viewed after climbing a bit more to the peak.

The hard trek of Chembra ends here.Forest department allows to trek upto this place only.If we are lucky we can spot wild animals drinking water.Our guide Sabu showed us that a skeleton of an animal on the lake bank,He told us that probably it may be a deer skeleton,getting killed by wild animal while drinking water in the lake.It is better to trekk Chembra on a holiday when many people trekk.

On the way to Chembra Peak before reaching the top we can see this small Lake which has the shape of a heart. It is a wonder how this lake exists on such a height and it is really a marvelous one with fresh water. Way to Chembra Peak spending some time here is worth because of the panoramic view from here, the clear sky and fast moving clouds, the cool breeze etc.

terrible pond and not a lake. Exhaustive trekking of 4-5 kms to see the pond. Its not only dirty and full of algae, but the guard sitting there does not even allow to touch the waters.
