‪This is a great lot to tailgate in. The venue is iconic to say the least. We prefer under the hood instead of the lawn as we are not mountain goats and the lawns is steep. I have seen the police kindly wake drunk people up here so they do not get arrested which is pretty nice of them. What do you expect though, its Wisconsin.‬

‪Visited for July 15 Post Malone concert. Concert itself was great. Traffic and parking infrastructure was a disaster. Took 2.5 hours to be able to exit the venue due to a lack of traffic management and exit options. Also noticed that many visitors were unable to find their automobiles because there were absolutely no parking markers of any kind. Will not visit this place again. If you wish to keep your sanity, stay far away!‬

‪The lot staff was parking three cars back to back with no lane for the middle cars to exit. When I complained that she parked my car in the lot attendant screamed at me. I asked the car behind me to move and they did & I went and parked where I could get out. Concert was done at 11pm - couldn’t leave lot until 2:30am bc no one was directing traffic and there is only one way out.Live nation runs alpine valley & sells the tickets so they overbook & have no staff. Horrible company.‬

‪Don’t get me wrong the venue itself is beautiful. My wife and I went last night to see Post Malone the line for food and drinks were long and they couldn’t keep up them the demand of the crowd. The show ended at 11 pm and we didn’t get out the parking lot until 3 am.‬

‪So disappointed. Venue totally oversold for Post Malone and didn’t have the infrastructure to support the crowd they created. Entry lines were over a half mile long. That’s understandable given they only had 6 people checking bags.‬

‪Large stage with several obstacles blocking lawn seats. It's a large performance venue, housing over 37,000. Getting in and out can take up to 45 minutes.

Live Nation has made some improvements and offers good food and beverage options. Lots of upgrade options too.

My biggest disappointment is the over reach of law enforcement circling the parking lots with golf carts and a magistrate on-site to process arrests. It rather seems like a fundraiser for local police. There are always some bad actors in large concert settings, but treating the entire audience as such impacts the experience significantly.‬

‪The venue is beautiful, but the $36 beers leave a bad taste in your mouth. I know all venues take the chance to rob you blind once they have you confined, but Alpine Valley takes it to a whole new level. I will go back for sure, but will never buy another beer.‬

‪Up front parking! You will never get out! Horrible and we asked why and they didn’t care! Everyone else’s lanes moved and not us! Up close means never get out!‬

‪Don't listen to the negative reviews. They seem to have one thing in common: old people that can't walk up the hill and like to complain about the things that make this place special. I've been to about a dozen shows here, and have had a blast at every single one. In fact, it's even more fun when the hill gets wet and slippery (slip and slide anyone??). This venue is truly special, and it's an amazing energy and feeling you get when 37,000 people get together to see a show. I wish they had more shows.‬

‪Sorry to read all of the negative responses posted in 2019 concerning the Jimmy Buffett show at Alpine Valley. I have been attending shows at Alpine since 1978 and I have never had an experience to compare with those voiced by many of the concertgoers. My wife and I attended the same concert, had a great time and went to the show expecting that there would be lines and it would be necessary to deal with some delays parking, entering the venue when the gates opened and exiting the parking lot after the show.

If you go to Alpine and expect that there is only going to be a small crowd attending a show then you need to research the venue. The theater holds 37,000 people and any informed Buffett fan knew that it was a sell-out prior to concert day. 37,000 people don't squeeze through a few gates in a few minutes.

As for the lawn seating, many years ago we sat on the lawn when we were not able to purchase pavilion tickets (for Buffett, by the way). I swore that that would never happen again as it was impossible to maintain a minimal seating area due to fans lack of respect for personal space. And I got tired of the "beer showers" also, provided by drunk and over-served attendees who didn't seem to give a damn about the show. Sometimes I think the expensive beer prices are to purposely reduce the amount of beer consumed by some of the less than responsible concert attendees. Sitting on the lawn for a sold-out show is definitely not recommended.

As for the physical layout of the theatre, it was purposely built on the side of a natural valley to provide a view of the stage from the whole venue. Is it steep? Yes it is. Is the lawn slippery when it is wet. Yep. Can the climb from the pavilion and lower lawn be a chore for an older or disabled person. Definitely. When I first went there in 1978 I was 27 years old and the physical layout of the theatre was not a problem. Now at nearly 70 years old, that climb up the hill can be challenging but I would rather see a show at Alpine than almost any other venue in the country.

Some of the problems unfortunately experienced by the disappointed fans were created by the people who attended the show. The walkways and sidewalks should be kept clear but there obviously are not enough security personnel to keep up with constantly herding the people. Disrespect for others personal space cannot be solved by security. Sadly some people go to see Jimmy with the idea that they are going to be "blasted" or "blitzed" out of their minds and don't really give a damn about the show or the fans who came to see a concert, not a bunch of loud mouthed jerks.

While the quality of concerts over the years have improved, unfortunately, the quality of concertgoers has not. In 2019, my wife and I (sometimes with friends) attended 13 shows in four states. Most of the shows had at least one or two loudmouths within earshot who just could seem to fathom that they were at a show that was attended by thousands of people and who wanted to hear the music instead of some idiot babbling about some totally irrelevant bullpucky. The only shows where the fans respected each other AND the band were at the Sting Cheese Incident and Greensky Bluegrass shows.

None of these issues will stop me from going to see live music, particularly at Alpine Valley. But I go anticipating what to expect and try to stay as flexible as possible if some aspect of the experience requires more patience or takes a little more time than usual.‬
