‪Definitely not a restaurant for families with young kids. Extremely RUDE Staff including management and dishonest Hostess. Was lied to numerous times when asked how much longer for our table. When our 2 hour wait for "our table" was ready the Manager approached (harassing) me and said "I hope you don't think you are sitting here, this table is reserved" when in fact it was ours (per the Hostess). That was long story short. The head manager called and didn't seem to care how we were treated or the fact we have no desire to ever return to their establishment. EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and not FAMILY FRIENDLY. I plan on referring friends and family to the Wisconsin Dells for further family fun. ‬

‪Sledding
pros: good setup
cons: underwhelming hills
Best for: little kids (4-8 year olds), people who don't want really fast hills, consistent snow

Review was done during the COVID times.
We got our tickets online. Check-in was easy at the outside window. If you're facing the check-in window, the entrance to the slopes is to the right. Then, sledding is maybe 20 feet past that and on the right. You can rent sleds, but make sure you do that in advance or you'll be like me, running to Target that morning asking God for 4 sleds.

The event was for my 14-year-old's birthday. It was him and his friend, our 11-y-o daughter and her friend, wife and me.

We really didn't know what to expect, but I figured that, if they have ski hills, then the sledding should be pretty good.
I guess I should have asked or figured that the size of the sled hills would be proportionate to comparing Grand Geneva's ski slopes to, say, Breckenridge or Park City. They were pretty small.
We definitely made the most of it and, in the end, had fun.
The best part is that they have it set up where you sled down a hill, then at the bottom you keep going in the same direction up the opposite side and sled down a separate hill back to the original launch. It's sort of like two skateboard half-pipes next to one another.
Overall, probably won't be back with this group, but would come back with little ones.‬

‪We pre-paid our lift tickets and release forms, and the line for pre-paid folks was longer than the regular line and several people in the pre-paid line hadn't pre-paid but we're still tended to.

However, nothing can be worse than manager Caleb snickering trying to hold back laughter when I complained about the poor service. Chad, the head manager, appeared shocked at my accusations, but unfortunately poor service is his direct responsibility.

I empathize when things don't work out well or unexpectedly, but this was nothing other than plain old stupidity from people who had no respect for a smooth process. When we pre-pay, we take risk since there's no refunds. To be so blatantly disrespectful is a shame on what was once an organization that revered itself on quality service‬

‪I liked the idea that they had a free sled hill for my kids to use since there was no snow in the area due to warm weather. I did not like the long line to fill out waivers on their computers, and the second line to get coat tags. It led to screaming kids in a relatively confined area. We got to the hill and maybe stayed 20 minutes due to the frustration we encountered (it took longer to fill out waivers and get coat tags). It was overpopulated and very disorganized. There should be an employee at the sled hill to keep things moving along, as patrons go down the hill with their kids and then stand around at the bottom. Then, people walk right back up the middle, causing others to not be able to go down the hill. Same experience two years in a row.‬

‪Expect to wait in line for about an hour in the cramped gift shop to buy your lift tickets. One girl was serving all customers. Maybe bring your lunch to eat as the line snakes along.
Lift attendants are eating or playing on their ph ones so pray those ahead of you don't fall down. I saw a huge pile up of rookie skiers as the attendant had no idea they were crashing into each other as the lift kept discharging them.‬

‪We cross country skied at Bigfoot Beach State park and it was awesome. Tried the cross country trails at the Grand Geneva resort today and ended up walking most of it. Trails had not been groomed recently and the area was too hilly for us. The map showed areas that were for novice skiers but you had to do some intermediate hills to get to them so they were worthless to us.

If you are an intermediate or above cross country skier you should be fine. ‬

‪My daughter and I bought the Discover Ski package which included a beginners lesson, lift ticket and all rental equipment. This bundle saved some money. We were there at a very busy time while the school children were still on break. Lots of families. A little confusing when you first walk in regarding what to do, where all the forms are, filling them out etc. If you have access to a printer prior to arrival, fill out all your paperwork and bring it with so you can just get in the first line.
Next we got our boots, skis, helmets and poles. This process can really take some time depending on crowds so if you have a scheduled ski lesson arrive at least an hour before the lesson. If you miss it or are late... you lost your lesson.
Finally off to the slopes! We had two wonderful young ladies, Emily and Kinzie, as our group instructors. They were very thorough and helpful. We practiced quite a bit on the smaller “bunny” hill and they gave us a lot of feedback and advice. The magic carpet (conveyer belt) is awesome! No more tow ropes. I felt the lesson was great and provided an amazing amount of information and instruction.
We felt confident enough to try the second beginner hill and had a blast. Did not attempt the ski lifts but they looked so inviting. The grounds are beautiful. “Mountains”, snow and trees. There are enough runs here for advanced, intermediate and beginners. If you don’t want to be around beginners this is not the place for you. I loved the fact that because mostly families were here with beginners and intermediate skiers, the atmosphere was kind. Not once did I hear anyone laugh when someone fell down. People would help each other out and cheer on strangers.
Food and drinks were a bit pricey at the lounge and seating was limited but it was crowded the day we were there. Ice skating and sledding are also available.
Finally, I was amazed that during our entire visit, every employee was on task and super polite and friendly! Other reviews have said different. Some visitors were impatient with lines and short tempered but the staff always kept their cool!
I would definitely recommend Mountain Top. Very nice place, something for everyone to do, pleasant staff, scenic and we had a great time skiing.‬

‪his a decent Ski place that beginers to experienced people can enjoy. We have been here few times in the past and again been here last year, I went with kids and it was fun. This year kids want to go but still waiting for big snow(though they can top it with artificial snow).‬

‪We have young kids (5 & 7) and picked this place as it has the hotel close by vs Wilmot you have a drive to get to a decent hotel. Although the Grand Genva hotel left a lot to be desired.

We arrived early and didn't have to wait, but it takes forever to get all of the forms filled out(probably why there was a decent line when I came back in to get a drink). Something that they should really put online. I'm in tech sales so all of the paper forms drive me insane.

The kids both had a lesson. They seemed decent. The kids came out of them and performed well all day, so we were happy with that.

The hill itself is good. All thinks considered skiing in the midwest is not the greatest. Conditions were good through about 1pm, but as warm as it was it got very icy and slushy towards the end of the day (5pm).

My biggest complaint is the attendants at the tops of the lifts. They are often on their phones and pay no attention to what is going on. This trip was with my in-laws and my mother in law was very annoyed by their lack of attention. My son ended up not getting off in time and had to jump off from about 5 feet up. The guy in the booth had no idea. We made that our last run. I was too tired at the point to find someone that would care. In retrospect I should have found out who it was and reported it.

Many of the reviews talk about it being fun for families, but you do need to be careful. There are many teens at this place and they pay little attention to what is going on around them. My wife was almost crushed by some kid not paying attention to where he was going.

Next time we will be driving the extra 20 minutes to checkout Alpine Valley. There was nothing about this experience that made me want to return. We liked Wilmot 2 years ago and were happy with that. It is much nicer and newer. After we checkout Alpine Valley I will have a full picture and if it is anything like my friends have said I won't be back here as bad as the attendants were.‬

‪Took our 12 year old son for his first attempt at skiing today. We got him the Discover Ski Lesson w/ Chairlift for $95, that also included ski rental.
The staff was great!!
My son skied for about 3 hours.
