We ran out of time, just barely...we would do again...solely to finish quest. Other than that I wouldn't return. It was okay, not something I truly like..but my daughter did. Unfortunately kids were running everywhere, screaming and very little monitoring. It was overwhelming.

My partner and I did this on a whim and we had an absolute blast! I would highly suggest checking this out. I was a little nervous because we are not into wizards, magic, dungeons and dragon type stuff, etc. at all. That did not matter. It was an incredible experience for a young couple in their early twenties.

My twins are 6 years old and just learning to read. I pretty much had to do all the reading and figure out the clues. Some of the challenges we had to redo because the wand did not register the exhibit properly and the kids got frustrated and lost interest. It would of been helpful if there was a worker working the floor for questions, maybe I was doing something wrong? I saw older kids having a blast. This definitely would be a great game for older kids who can read and solve the clues.

We were staying at the Great Wolf Lodge for a spring break getaway. During our check-in process, we noticed a display advertising "Paw Passes" for resort guests. We decided to go with the middle option (Red Paw Pass) for $45 per individual. This included 1 - MagiQuest game, 1 standard MagiQuest wand, topper, or belt. It also included free ice cream, bulk candy, and arcade credits.
The nice part about this location, it's attached to the hotel so we never had to leave the property. They opened before and stayed open later than the pool. It was an easy way to keep our kids entertained, especially when pool attractions were shut down. Our kids are 10 and 7 and they thoroughly enjoyed running up and down the stairs trying to complete each quest. It took our entire stay but they were able to complete all tasks.
Due to Covid-19 the additional areas for climbing and slidding to complete your missions were closed off. Had those multiple areas been open, it would have made their experience even better.
When we first arrived at the shop, we engaged with a Great Wolf employee as the main attendant must have been on break. Midway through our transaction he returned and completed our check out. Due to this, I feel like some information was missed. It wasn't until our third day of playing that we realized our toppers (which are extra) did not work. We spoke with the attendant from the first night, he informed us their extra powers had not been loaded. He was kind enough to correct the matter and assisted my oldest with the step he was missing.
Overall, the kids had a blast. It never felt overly busy. We would return should we come to the Dells again.

Another Great Wolf Lodge win! Frequently cleaned. Thoughtfully arranged store to discourage unnecessary contact. Sanitizer everywhere. My kids had a blast as usual. Thank you for offering fun and keeping us safe!

This place charged $10.99 per person for mini golf. They wouldn’t honor the $1.00 off coupon per person coupon that I had because it wasn’t a combo. The Grand Total was $37.00 for me and my two children. It was worth about $20, at the most. Like some other places in Pigeon Forge, this place gives you very little for your money and is trying to take as much money from you as they possibly can. I would never recommend going to Magiquest.

Good Indoor Fun - Great for families! An hour to 90 mins of fun, constructive/critical thinking, and physical activity. It's a fairly small area, but is spread out over 2 floors. We picked the mid-level adventure for myself, my husband, and our 4 y/o son. We finished with just short of 5 mins to spare including our toddler in all quests. Definitely an interesting, unique addition for the trip!

I’ve been to Wizard Quest once in 2008 and remember thinking it was incredibly lame, like they tore down a wax museum for this?
I was so wrong, and I’m sorry. I had an awesome time here. It’s so creative, fun and cheesy goodness. You get to go through themed areas and find wizards. It sounds lame, but it’s a fun cross between an escape room and a scavenger hunt.
What I’m even more excited for is knowing they plan on expanding soon. Can’t wait to see what’s new!

The kids loved this place! We had a great time! There were tons of little activities that could have kept us busy the whole day. Great for those crummy rainy days.

My husband and I took our (then) 7 and 6 year old. All four of us were entertained, despite not winning the quest. I think it was my favorite indoor activity that we did.

What do they do at magiquest
LetsGoSeeThings
شيكاغو, إلينوي76 مساهمة
It is a game where the players are given tasks by a wizard. The players must purchase a wand that is used to activate the various “finds”. The system keeps track of each of your scores. Once tasks are completed, you receive the electronic badge for that task, and then you go back to the wizard for a new task. The game is set up over 4 stories at the Dells location. Players must listen carefully to instructions, and remembering the details of all 4 floors of the game help you to solve the riddles faster, and score badges. A little bit like Harry Potter.

Regarding your MagiQuest experience at Great Wolf Lodge - you said you already had a wand, so the same wand was able to be used at this location. Can you use a MagiQuest wand all over?
Thanks - new to MagiQuest

Your Wand can be used over and over. To preserve it, all u should do is unscrew the end cap in between trips. Was told they last up to 7 years.
Truly apologize for the very delayed response.

Hi I know this was a long time ago that you posted this but I was wondering if we purchased a wand on eBay or if someone gave us wands would it work when we got to wolf lodge? My kids are 4, 7 and 9 I think they will be too young to complete a full magic quest but When we went before my kids were younger and they wanted a wand. We are only staying one night and I want to know if the wands will make things "work" that are in the hallways and what not or do you have to buy a full on game?
Thanks for any help and advice.

Heather -
WANDS REQUIRED:
Other people have claimed MagiQuest doesn't use wands. That's absolutely incorrect. It uses wands and only wands and absolutely nothing else.
BEATING MAGIQUEST AT THEIR OWN GAME:
You can buy used wands online. I searched eBay for "MagQuest used" and the list was enormous.
Most of MagiQuest is designed to separate you from your money. The "toppers" don't add any functionality to the wands. They are plastic sculptures that screw onto the end of a wand. Buying a used wand with a topper is fine. Buying a new topper is simply throwing money away.
MagiQuest sells far, far more than wands and toppers. They sell full costumes. We chose to buy one of the costumes and had it double for our son's Halloween costume. That made it worth the price. I'd look for used costumes as well otherwise your kids will be pushing you hard to shell out another $60.00 a piece for outfits.
The one thing you cannot avoid is paying to play. They'll let you used "previously purchased" wands (we've gone several times because its only 1 hour from our home and they've never hesitated to let us use our previously purchased wands). They'll let you wear whatever you want (most kids are in swim trunks and a t-shirt). But, you must pay to play. Once you pay, they sync your wand to the system and your wand can activate the various infrared play areas.
There are a few in other parts of the hotel, but they are sparing and unimpressive. 99% of the activity takes place in the MagiQuest building.
YOUNGER & OLDER KIDS PLAYING THE GAME:
The game is very, very simple. A 4 year old might get bored. A 7 year old is the perfect age and will easily finish a game. With your 9 year old child, its best to focus on the high score board and see if he can beat the high score of the day; the standard game will be almost too easy for him.
The size of the game space is huge; its a 3 story building with slides, stairs and ladders navigating their way through a (fairly simple) multi-story maze. More than one game can be played in the game space at the same time. Kids will be on different quests. Their wands will cause Infrared game areas to behave (slightly) differently depending on the game they are playing.
Once they complete a Quest they can go back to a central Tree and complete new quests. When my son was young, he grew bored after the first 1-2 quests. Our last trip was when he was 9; he played for hours. Anyone can play the quests or simply gather as many points throughout the game space.
The original MagiQuest is aimed at younger kids while ShadowQuest is aimed at older ones. Both are played in the same space using the same wands. Both have multiple missions. Your children can pursue the missions non-linearly.
MY VIEWS ON MAGIQUEST:
I personally find MagiQuest to be a rather cynical cash-grab. The construction of the game space is cheaply done, the acting in the videos is terrible, the music is canned and the quests are simplistic at best. It is the 21st century equivalent of Hungry Hungry Hippo or a Choose Your Own Adventure, in which very limited gameplay is used.
And that would be fine, except the rest of the experience is about separating cash from a parent's pocketbook. Want a wand? 20 bucks. Want a plastic topper made in China for 50 cents? That's an extra 5 bucks. Want a costume? That's anywhere from 40-100 bucks. And it goes on and on and on.
It doesn't deliver the value of the waterslides. If you have a large family, you could easily spend hundreds of dollars and regret it in the days to come. "Why did we buy a chintzy knight's shield for $18.99? Our son won't ever play with it once we get home!" was a constant refrain the first time we did MagiQuest.
Soda machines are placed near the ends of slides. The interactive areas in the other parts of the hotel are placed near the gift shop and arcade. Everything about it is about separating you from more cash. And I find that diminishes the enjoyment of being with your family.
The second time we were prepared; we bought nothing but access to the game for the day.
We've never played a third time and I doubt we ever will. Our son is now almost 11 and I doubt he'll have much interest.
As a one-time experience, if you go in with used costumes and used wands (and you don't tell your kids they are used! You wrap them up as presents and present them to them in your hotel room! You can turn it into a magical experience as you open the gift! "Look kids! We've been given a secret gift! I wonder what is in side? WANDS??? LIKE HARRY POTTER??? AMAZING!!! A note? "Prepare for thy quest, young paladins." OH MY!!! Let's go explore the hotel and find out what mission we've been sent on!") then you can enjoy it thoroughly and not waste hundreds of dollars.

We are taking a group of teens to Pigeon Forge for a weekend. MagiQuest looks fun but I'm afraid they are too old for it. Any input?

MagiQuest is best for ages 6-12, although I saw a lot of parents pretty into it helping their kids, including me. It is part creative role play, ie pretending you're a wizard, which most older kids will find childish, and part scavenger hunt, which anyone can enjoy. My kids, ages 4-8, like making climbing the rope ladders, going down the slides, and making the animals and objects talk in MagiQuest and throughout the hotel. The quests are really scavenger hunts to find "runes" to get powers to fight the goblin king or dragon, which involves some problem solving and memory, which is really kind of fun for any age. By the way, there are stairs to each level, so you don't have to climb on the ropes.
