I can’t express how amazing this company is. Having been certified 25 years prior, but not recently scubad. I chose to do one-on-one yo refresh… and had the good fortune to have Jeanette as my initial dive master.
Patient, passionate and knowledgeable, Jeanette was magic! We dove off Koloa Landing and saw so much sea life, from huge schools of fish to octopus and eels, and of course, the honu :)
Capped off by hearing whales sing, it was amazing!
Followed up with a two tank boat dive with Juli as my guide . Sheraton caverns and stonehouse were our locations.
Hoards of honu, even a male white tipped shark….the variety of fish species and nudibranches were spectacular.
From start to finish, it was a fabulous experience with Fathom Five.
I feel blessed

Daughter (adult) and I went for a two tank dive at the Koloa Landing with @FathomFiveKauai Fathom Five dive shop of Koloa, Kauai, Hawaii. It was my daughter's first time, and DiveMaster Will combined technical precision with patient kindness to help her have the best possible experience. He brought extra gear to the dive site so she was able to find a perfect fit. Will has years of experience teaching brand new divers. As is common, my daughter had some difficulty demonstrating the third required skill (clearing a flooded mask while remaining underwater). With his soft yet encouraging guidance she succeeded on her third attempt. Then it was time to deflate our BDUs and explore the reef. Will led us Westward from the Koloa Landing ramp for about twenty minutes at depths between 20-35 ft, then we circled back. Along the way he pointed out eels, various reef fishes, and napping turtles. Will is a calm DiveMaster. We never felt rushed. He brought extra weights and added to our weight ballast incrementally while underwater so we could effortlessly maintain depth. Our first tank dive lasted 47 minutes. Once we were back at the dive truck, he set out cold drinks and snacking choices. He had parked right next to the site portapotty so we didn't have far to walk in our suits to use the facilities. After refueling the tanks and ourselves, we waded back into the ocean and he guided us Eastward along the reef. This time there were many swimming turtles. We didn't approach them, yet they curiously swam toward us a bit. It was magical! Again he pointed out interesting animals and features of the reef, using his underwater writing tablet to provide more details. This second tank lasted us 52 minutes. It was an ideal first experience for my daughter to explore the underwater wonders of Kauai. Thank you Fathom Five and Divemaster WIll!

Sage was our dive master and he was fantastic and patient with us first timers. We saw turtles and many fish. Great location with lots of fish. Highly recommend.

I had an amazing first diving experience with Fathom Five! After doing my school & pool at home, I did my four referral dives with Fathom Five in Kauai with Sage (day 1) and Shawn (day 2) and felt incredibly comfortable and safe with both of them. It was obvious both were incredibly knowledgeable, careful, and patient with a new diver, while also showing me an amazing time and solidifying my love for scuba diving. After being certified, my boyfriend (a much more experience diver) and I did a twilight and night dive with Shawn, who again made me feel completely comfortable and safe. We had two amazing dives with so much to see and Shawn was able to show off his knowledge of all the sea life around Kauai. Sergio, our boat captain, was so helpful and also made my first ever boat dive a success. My boyfriend did two other two-tank dives while I was doing my referrals, and also had a fantastic time. I would highly recommend them for any new or experienced diver, and am already looking forward to returning and diving with them again!

Everything went well diving with Fathom Five from reserving, paying, checking in, sorting gear, meeting up with dive masters at dive sites, refreshing after 8 years away, and actually diving. The gear they offered for warmth was perfect for the water temp. The wetsuits were clean, fresh, fit well and performed properly. The air and Nitrox were as promised. The gear was clean. The refs and gauges worked well and did not look over used or underserviced. It was good gear. The lamps provided for the night dives were great wrist mount with adequate light strength without too much weight or bulkiness the dive masters briefed their dives and followed their dive plans. Diving in Kauai with Fathom Five was a pleasure.
(I had been away from diving and instructing for about 8 years to upgrade body parts like knees, hips etc. my dive buddy/ goddaughter was freshly certified. Between us, having a good Divemaster that could keep an eye on us and catch issues was very important to me. They exceeded my hopes and made it all good.)

What a great experience. I did the 2 tank no experience dive. Sivan was a great instructor/guide. He was informative and took the time to make sure I understood all instructions. If you are on the fence, I would highly recommend experiencing the Try SCUBA experience. You are likely to see turtles, eels, colorful fish, shrimp up close..

Captain Sergio and Shaun, our dive master were professional and Saftey conscience for our dive group of 5 from newly certified to 700 dives. Importantly they were friendly and a blast to hang with. Shaun led us to see the details of intricate sea life most divers wouldn’t spot to sea turtles. Fathom Five gets a high five!

I did two separate 2 tank dives with the Fathom Five shop. Both trips were great and the experience was very good. Rental gear was all in good shape. Janice (captain) and Julie (dive master) were both awesome; really enjoyed interacting with them. From the octopus to the turtles; the dives were great. I appreciated that they are smaller groups.

Unfortunately, my husband didn’t get to go on his dive because of the incompetent idiots. If I could give this outfit negative stars, I would. I bought my husband a gift card for a dive. When my husband tried to call Fathom Five to schedule a dive, he was told he needed to book online. Okay, fine. He did that. On the day of the dive, my husband goes to the Fathom Five shop where the womsn behind the counter doesn’t even acknowledge that someone has come into the store. Then, the woman tells my husband they don’t have a guide so they canceled his dive - despite the fact that they have a group going out. The woman doesn’t tell my husband why they chose to just cancel his dive, she doesn’t apologize snd she doesn’t offer to re-book for another day. Oh, she just goes back to looking down and doesn’t even say goodbye.
Then comes a mega email ordeal to get my credit card refunded.
I really don’t get how this outfit gets such good reviews. Their staff is less than professional. DO NOT USE THEM!

Excellent experience. Will and Savin were professional and gave us a great dive. Very friendly. Even though we were close to shore, we saw a ton of sealife including turtles, eels, and fish

The hours posted in Trip Advisor are incorrect. They are open from 7am to 6pm daily. Also the only option in activity is a 2-tank shore dive. They also offer 2 and 3 tank boat dives as well as dives to Niihau. They have two dive boats. Can you please correct?

Anyone ever been on a Ni’ihau dive with Fathom Five? How was it? Also, does Fathom Five feed you a lunch between two tank dives?

I have been with Fathom Five twice and I think they are the best on the Island compared to the other two dive shops that my husband and I have used. I have not been to Ni'ihau yet, but I hope too soon. The Dive Masters are wonderful and they feed you snacks between dives.
