We chose the one hour tour with two boats since there were 13 of us (ranging in age from 55 to 79). The airboat was fun and Captain Jamie did a great job not only driving, but history of the area. We even saw dolphins - bonus! We would all highly recommend Outer Banks Adventures for an airboat tour.

Great experience, our captain was well versed in the history of the area and environment. We were able to view many dolphins amongst other sea life. Airboat was comfortable and we were provided with headphones for ear protection and easy communication. We booked the 2 hr tour and I highly recommend

Love the history provided along with the ride. This was the second time we went on the airboat adventure. And I would do it a third time 😁

Loved the air boat ride with Jamie. The dolphins were a bonus! It was our first air boat ride and we were not disappointed.

As long-time visitors to OBX, we are always looking for ways to learn more about the area. This adventure was both informative and fun. Best guide ever! We appreciated the extra effort put forth to communicate with us to secure our reservation.

The boat ride was thrilling, the educational aspect was intriguing and the manner in which our Captain delivered was informative and quite impressive. I am excited to attend other excursions to learn more about OBX. I am so thankful to Mr. Moore to share his passion and love for this area.

Our air boat tour was the highlight of our week in the outer banks. Our tour boat guide, Jamie, was informative and interesting. I would highly recommend this enjoyable adventure.

This is an adventure that we take every time we visit the OBX. It is so fun and also educational. All ages will love it! Highly recommend!

Tour is in an old school bus. Great tour guide giving you a lot of information about the wildlife refuge. We saw a lot of bears in their natural habitat. Didn't see any gators.

Does this operate in October - would be 1st or 2nd - in any weather? How far in advance do we need to book. 2 adults.

Weather dependant that time of year, give us a call about a week before you come down, but do send us your contact info dates of availability & the duration of tour you'd like. We have a 4 person minimum on our tours that way we can try & pair you up with another group

Would this be suitable for a 3 year old? I’m sure my 6 year old would love it!

3 is about the youngest we take, we use push to talk headsets, any younger than that & they have a little trouble using them, we make different stops where weather permitting & the kids can get out the boat & look for hermit crabs & different things on sandbars & private islands & give a little environmental education along the way. I'd recommend doing the 1.5 hour tour

We're coming down the end of August and there's going to be 6-10 of us,if we decide to do this when do you recommend booking?

End of August is very busy with everyone going back to school if you want a specific day & time I'd book at least 2-3 weeks out, I'd look at the beginning of your stay so that if we have inclement weather or can't run for some reason we have time to work you back into the schedule. Mornings are usually calmer

Sorry No pets allowed, We wear ear protection for noise & communication & a dog's ears are much more sensitive than ours.

Can a 5-year-old child go on the tour?

Definitely! It's a thrill for an adult, probably more so for a child. Adults might focus more on the sights than a child, but I don't think a child will be bored because so much of the time is "flying" over the water. I also found that it was smoother than I anticipated, so I don't think a child will be bothered that way .... unless, for some reason, the water is choppy. All in all, I think a child will be thrilled in a way that will only enhance the experience for the adults.
