We are so sorry that your son had this experience. The Armory is a very large arena and we have staff circulating to ensure a safe environment. However, given the size of The Armory, we also instruct visiting coaches to keep an eye on their athletes' possessions, and we also post many signs indicating the same.

Street-side parking in Washington Heights is limited, as it is throughout Manhattan. There are some nearby parking lots as well. We do charge admission to support our youth athletic and educational programming, but the admission costs are generally a fraction of the cost of going to the movies. Please see: www.armory.nyc

We have received your review and are sorry to hear your visit was unsatisfactory. We are here to provide a great experience for our athletes and audience alike, and when we fall short, it is important for us to know about it so we can improve. The officials have a meet schedule which is put together with our best knowledge of timing. We put on over 100 track & field meets per year, so we try to get this right from our own experience. However, the schedule is an estimation and many things can cause it to change. When telling athletes to hurry up, if they are running late, the officials have to give them the urgency to get to the track. Sometimes, athletes are on the track ready to go and need to get the 1 or 2 athletes or relay teams on the track to prevent a delay in the meet. Voices may get loud, but the intent is to get the athletes where they need to be, so they have their opportunity to compete, and are not left out. The athletes are told to line up in order based on their hip numbers. The officials move them in place if they do not follow the verbal instructions of the official. They are also told to line up in order from the time they check in to the time they get on the track. We will work on being clearer with our expectations to our athletes, as they are the reason we are here!
