We really enjoyed this museum. Great exhibits about Bethlehem Steel (and Iron), silk, propane, and Robert Fulton. Very informative signs throughout. I learned a ton. The videos were also very good, but I wish they were a little bigger (they are just on small screens). It would be nice if there was like a 10 to 15 minute film to start off watching to give an overview of the entire period of the Industrial Revolution. The setting (amongst the former Bethlehem Steel complex) was incredible and really brought everything to life. Would highly recommend a visit here! I wish we had received a tour, but even our self-guided tour was great. It will be nice if they're able to open a second floor. Free parking right outside. We spent 90 minutes here. Tickets were $15 for adults, $10 for kids, which I thought was fair (not cheap, but not too expensive either). Perfect activity for a rainy day.

Lovely, informative museum. Staff very pleasant and friendly. Very nice gift shop. Convenient parking. Outside areas to walk around with displays of equipment. Short walk to the Steel Stacks area to explore more of the history of Bethlehem Steel. Highly recommend visiting.

Amazing to see the inventions to people developed to solve their problems.
Note that there are a lot of displays with lots of reading (English only).

We took our teen boys and a friend here for Mother's Day. The museum was interesting with interactive exhibits and the docent that started us out was amazing as he had worked in that very building from 1980 to 1995 and had a lot of personal knowledge to share. It took us a little over an hour to see everything and talk with the docent and we will probably come back after the second floor exhibits are open to the public. Make sure that you make time to go across the street and explore the Hoover-Mason Trussle which took us another hour to explore because we stopped to read all the information plaques.

Although it may not sound exciting at first blush, it’s a great overview of the steel industry that built many of our buildings (Chrysler building in NYC), railroad, and ships for WW2. It is American history… especially interesting for the mechanical minded (not me). Ladies, this explains Rosie the riveter. If you’re already in Bethlehem, just go.

If you can, book a tour with one of the guys who used to work at the plant "Steelworkers’ Archives Walking Tours". Our tour guide told great stories and provided an informative, entertaining information about the plant when it was operational. Highly recommend! (note - The elevator was not working in mid October 2021. It's about a a 3 or 4 story climb)

Had a Excellent Tour given by “John Cook”. The Corliss Came Alive on 9/11/21 the Day of our Tour. Was cool to see this Monster Running. By the End of our Tour John explained how steel is produced. Made it wonderful to know what looking at when walking through the Old Bethlehem Steel Facility.

I had a fabulous time, the staff is very friendly and the museum has the perfect layout for a 1-2 hour visit. As a fan of old time power and hit and miss engine era technology, this place was heaven. The restorations are gorgeous, and since it was not busy(I was there late in the day), I could just stand there and stare! And the lady at the front desk pointed me to the walkway along the old Bethlehem Steel Plant---wow, So glad I stopped in, best $12 I've spent!

We had read an article in the NYT about the museum and decided to make a day of it.
Very clean, not busy, more for adults then kids. beautiful examples of of equipment from the 1800’s -1900”s.
Had a small glitch with the credit cards, but had it resolved a couple of days later, no big issue.
Easy parking.

We are a family of 6. I was wondering if the museum currently offers any coupons?

I don't know. It's a Smithsonian Museum. The group ahead of us got a discount because they were members of the Smithsonian Museum though.

Is the museum suitable for children? And if so, what ages?

I don't think this particular museum would hold a lot of interest for young children. Unless they have an unusual interest in engines and early machinery. None of the machine actually are moving - which I imagine wouldn't hold their interest.
