This is a preserved area around midway between Penn Station and Inner Harbor. The city government has tried hard to promote the neighborhood with some detailed illustrations around historic buildings. However, Mount Vernon is not too special when compared with other major American cities. No reason to visit in particular.

Beautiful historical neighborhood in Baltimore. The roads are pathed in bricks. Park in honor of Peabody, plus the library and university. Also, Washington Monument.

Lots to see, experience and enjoy great food. Visit all the museums, monuments and find a walk tour.

A walk to Mount Vernon is deceitfully, not Annastraat walk in the park but a mean slope. Worthwhile yes, but mind your step!

Did a history/food tour of this area. Lots of history and interesting buildings. Probably any type of cuisine you could imagine here. This is a safe clean part of the city.

This neighborhood is steeped in lots of history and art. Old monuments and statues are found here as well as a parks across cobblestone streets by Washington monument. Definitely a must see!

Park was beautiful lot of wonderful history, Heavy homeless presence in the park. :( Check out the Walters Museaum and Mt Vernon home.

Loved this area and all the historic places! Beautiful archotectire in this area. Enjoyed walking around and seeing original George Washington monument.

This is my favorite neighborhood to visit in Baltimore. The architecture is beautiful, the Walter’s Art museum is a total gem, and there’s a wide selection of really good, cute cafes and restaurants all over the place.
If you’re coming to Baltimore from out of town, it’s a really great historic neighborhood worth the Uber drive from the waterfront.

Un lugar muy lindo para hacer una caminata. Hay fuentes, el Parque Mt. Vernon, una escultura a George Peabody. Está el edificio de la Iglesia United Methodist, en ese lugar falleció Francis Scott Key autor del himno nacional de EEUU.

Where can I obtain a walking tour map of the district? We will be visiting Baltimore March 25, 26 and 27 - prior to tours starting their season. Thank you

According to the national park service website,
A map and guide of the Mount Vernon Cultural Walk is available for purchase at the Baltimore Visitor Center located at 401 Light Street at the Inner Harbor.
You could probably call them and see if they will send one to you. Or you could research it yourself and make one on google maps. It's not a huge area, maybe 12 by 5 blocks.
