‪A number of trails. Not anything spectacular, but good exercise in town. Gives some historic perspective to the town.‬

‪A defunct mining operation gave their played-out acreage to the Town of Silver and called in a park. It's nice to see these undeveloped hills from streets in town, and up on Boston Hill (actually lots of hills) the views of Silver and its surrounding mountains are lovely, especially at sunset and sunrise. With several access points Boston Hill is readily available for an easy hike right out of town. Great place to walk dogs. No shade, so bring water and something for the dogs to drink from.‬

‪This is a great urban green space with plenty of trails and lots of trail heads easily accessible from downtown Silver City: Market St, Spring Street, Cooper, and the Bypass Highway. As the name suggests, there's a bit of climbing: the "peak" of the hill is approximately 400 ft above downtown and offers some nice views. Depending on the trail, you'll find more or less elevation change. The Market Street trail head offers an easier hike to the top while the Bypass trail head and Cheyenne Street trail head both offer nice views of the old mining pits.

Silver City is high desert and there is not a lot of shade, although you will see lush grass and wildflowers in the fall after the monsoons and some trails may be covered in snow in the winter. I recommend sun protection during any season and anywhere outdoors in Silver City -- the high elevation makes it easier to burn!

People with dogs new to the area should note that the trails are not paved and are often rocky and that, while there are many signs posted about Silver City's leash law and that dogs should be leashed in the open space, the locals often let their dogs run pretty far off leash so if you have a skittish dog please beware.

There is occasionally trash and the trails are not always clearly marked, but my understanding is that the space is entirely maintained by volunteers.

All in all, we're blessed with this beautiful getaway that offers so many recreation options and some glimpses into our local mining history so close to downtown.‬

‪Nice panoramic views of Silver City from the many trails among the old mine diggings. Lots of wild flowers during the right seasons.‬

‪This is a gem of an open space that offers great views, challenging trails, and a variety of terrain for hiking and cycling. In three visits, I only saw a handful of people...a couple of runners and a couple on bikes. ‬

‪Boston Hill is described locally as an "open space," and it's just that. It was once mined for minerals so there are pits of various sizes to add some interest to your hike. Views are very fine.‬

‪Steep climb in town to have an overview of the town. The rocks were interesting, many sorts. As others have said, the trail just stops and you run into private property. The hill could use some signs and information.‬

‪Make sure you take a canvas bag & explore the mine tailings. We found lists of interesting finds. Little heavy packing out. Rocks on trail can be really hard on dogs feet, we left ours at RV Park. Trails going everywhere so easy to get turned around, but mostly open area. Not as much for viewing, but for us rock hunting. Take water you will need it.
Every is free.‬

‪left the dogs in the RV (thank heavens) and did a hike here on a sunny breezy day. Criss-crossing trails everywhere and we got close to completing a "loop". It is too open for a hot sunny day. The trails are not terribly hospitable. Nice views offered. Reminiscent ot Craters of the Moon S.P.‬

‪A ton of trails accessible from several points in town. Beautiful views and good trails. Signage along trail is poor so be sure you know which way you wanna go and where you want to end up. Cell reception is good here so google maps can help with figuring out which loops to hike. ‬
