DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Booked the Dam Canyon Kayak Tour and the company canceled two months in advance due to "low water issues." They offered to switch to a different tour or otherwise cancel and refund the payment. Chose the latter. They never processed the refund, despite numerous follow-ups, always claiming "the owners had to do it." Finally had to file a chargeback with my credit card two months after the fact, which was successful. I encourage everyone who didn't receive a refund to do the same.

Apparently I am also one of those scammed by this unethical company. Trip booked in July, 2022 for an October 22, 2002 kayak tour. Our trip was canceled due to high winds, and being 1,000 miles from home, we were unable to schedule another trip for a later date. It took almost a week to get through to someone about my refund. When I finally received a return call, I was assured that my refund check would be mailed on October 28, 2022. No check - it took me another two weeks to get a response via e-mail. On November 22, 2022 I received an e-mail back that my refund would be mailed. Still no refund, no response!!!!!!!
PLEASE DO NOT LOSE $300 like we did by booking with this un-ethical company with horrible customer service!!!!! What a disappointment.

Une belle arnaque ! Après avoir dû annuler notre réservation, cette agence de location nous a proposé un remboursement partiel, nous l’attendons depuis fin octobre. Après plusieurs relance, aujourd’hui cette agence ne nous répond plus… Bref, allez louez un kayak ailleurs, car un cas de soucis aucune possibilité pour vous de revoir votre argent, contrairement à ce qu'il est écrit dans leurs conditions de vente ! Vraiment décevant ! Apparament nous ne sommes loin d'être les seuls dans ce cas là !

Would love to give 5-stars because our tour guide was awesome! He was incredibly knowledgeable about Lake Powell and the part of Antelope Canyon that we hiked. He took time to listen and answer all of our questions and comments (to the best of his ability).
The reason for the lower rating is for the failure (or lack), of processes in place to screen participants to ensure they're physically able to complete the kayak portion of the tour. We had a couple of kayakers in our group who were unable to manage their kayak and ended up having to return about 30 minutes into the tour. This ultimately caused a significant delay for the balance of our tour (at least an hour+). As a result we didn't complete the tour until it was nearly dark and the Lake was getting very rough by then.
This was not our guide's fault. I think if Hidden Canyon Kayak tightens up their processes and follows them closely this should be a simple matter to correct.

Did the lower antelope canyon kayak and hike
first of all never received confirmation email after reservation online. Had to do a screenshot. nothing in all my email boxes and yes email was correct.
Next upon arrival no staff and no truck identified with hidden canyon kayak because owner has 2 compagnies. Had to call office 2 times to be able to speak to someone to notify that we were waiting our tour and no one to welcome us.
Ramp used for tour has no more water so you’ll have to go down the whole concrete boat ramp, a steep cliff full of rocks with your paddle to finally get to your kayak.
Equipement is cheap (plastic sit on top kayak) even if lots of waves from boats on the lake. Guide had a better kayak than us. Hard to paddle with these cheap kayaks.
Guide was ok but for that price (129$ usd + taxes) expected more like: well identified staff, better equipment, little snack and why not have a shuttle for guests from parking to ramp and back instead of a pickup truck towing kayaks?? Why not change launch place? Does not make any sense.
Sorry buy overall not a good value for money at all. Don’t recommend that tour.
Do a walking tour of lower antelope canyon instead. Canyon is much more narrow and cheaper tour.

As much as I would've loved to experience this trip, it was cancelled by the company due to high winds. They offered to reschedule my trip or provide a refund. Unfortunately, since I'm not from the area I had my days booked with other trips so I opted for a refund hoping to revisit another time. It is now almost August and my trip was planned for early May. No refund and correspondence has stopped (on their end). I'd urge you to research other providers before using their services. Poor business and customer service. My understanding is that it can get pretty windy in that area often so it's likely you too may run into a cancellation. I hate to say it, but it seems like this is a trend with this company based off of the reviews. I was really looking forward to this, but will go with a different company/owners next trip.

Worst service ever! They told us that the boat would be at the boatramp. Once at the bootramp no boat/employee were there, so we contacted the owners. They told us there would be a trailer with the boats, guess what, no trailer. We waited for more than an hour in the blistering sun with the promise that the boat would come. After a long time contacting the owners, no boat came. They promised us a refund but we haven’t seen anything. Please don’t book with this company kif you want to have a nice day at the lake.

Booked the 7:30am kayak and hike tour. Email confirmation doesn’t contain basic information such as the date or time of the tour booked. In bold print the confirmation email states you must go to main office to sign waivers before the tour starts. Went to office, doesn’t even open until 8am so can’t sign waivers and no one answers phone. Next drove to Antelope Canyon boat launch ramp and found the tour guides waiting for us there. Our tour ended up starting 30 minutes late because all groups had same problem and no one knew where to go. Left a sour note to start the tour. Basic information and directions should have been included when you’re paying $120 for a tour!
There is a steep walk down boat ramp and then down rocky area to get to kayaks. Once in the water, kayaking was relatively calm because boat traffic was very light early in morning. Once we got into Canyon area, water was perfect. We parked the kayaks and then hiked for about and hour. It was hot, bring lots of water and snacks!
By the time we got back into the kayaks, boat traffic had increased dramatically. Winds had also picked up and the paddle back through the lake was very rough and choppy. It was not easy! Once back you have to climb back up the cliff area and walk up the boat ramp.
Tour guides, Owen and Noah, were very good. We enjoyed ourselves, but be prepared with plenty of water, sunscreen and you will have to work paddling, Highly recommend doing a morning tour. The afternoon tours were getting canceled due to the high winds. Would also not recommend with kids under 10 unless you want to do all the paddling. I had teenage boys and all 3 of them were tired by the end!

We rented 2 double kayaks for self guided tour of Antelope Canyon. We checked in at office in Page to complete waivers and get directions to launch site. Surprised to hear no staff at launch site. Kayaks at bottom of old, fairly steep and long boat ramp. Parking only allowed at the top. When we got there, only one of our two assigned kayaks was at site. Unable to get signal to call office so took another nearby one. We then realized actual launch site was down steep, rocky hill without path - seriously!?!? We made it down and launched around 10:15am on a Thursday. The paddle out to slot canyon was rough with waves and decent boat traffic - took 30-40 minutes. The paddle up the canyon was beautiful. We didn’t expect any boat traffic in slot canyon but boats allowed as long as no wake created. Most followed that rule. Three boats with several rafts and kayaks crowded one corner deeper in - ruined the peaceful ambiance. We made it to the start of the lower canyon path and hiked a bit but it was too hot to go very far. We spent some time swimming on paddle back out of slot canyon. The paddle back on open water was easier than the way in but we had no wind. Returning the kayaks to the drop off spot up that same hill was quite difficult and dangerous. The kayaks were probably 50-60lb each. The company charges $50/kayak if not returned. The actual paddling experience was overall great but would recommend a company getting you to ACTUAL launch site.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our kayaking and hiking adventure with Oscar. We had great weather and ideal conditions and kayaked for about 3 miles and hiked for 5. We were even able to enjoy some swimming even though the water was chilly. It was wonderful to go out early before the crowds and Oscar was so informative about the canyon, the plants, and the rocks. He made our trip so much more enjoyable! Thank you!!

Good morning…I have continued to reach out to obtain my refund due to you cancelling my tour. Now when I call the phone number is coming up as disconnected. When will you provide me my refund for a tour you didn’t provide?

Where is my refund? I was told that I would receive my refund in September when you cancelled my tour that I prepaid for in July.
I have called several times and was told it was going to be refunded. I am still waiting!!
I have records of all the calls I made, the emails I sent and the text message from your staff saying I would get a refund!
PS - I’ve contacted you directly several times so I am left with no choice but to ask publically!!

Was on the water at Lake Powell yesterday and people were swimming. The water is cold but it was 95 degrees out.
If we dont ro the tour and just rent kayaks, are we able to explore and possibly do the same route as the tour? Or is there limitations for renters vs tour guided?

You can do the close in destinations on your own. To follow the lost canyon itinerary most likely would require an overnight camping trip. Keep in mind too that the winds may pick up in the afternoon making paddling more difficult.
What’s the weight limit for a single person kayak?

We were put in two person kayaks and two of our party weighed 399 pounds as a pair and they were fine in the two person kayak.

I saw that the Lone Rock tour only runs in the afternoon...is that going to be too miserably hot in July/August for a family with teens/tween?

The temp in July/August will be around the 100 degree mark and it will be monsoon season, so there will be a chance of storms. For those of us who live in Phoenix year round, that’s not a bad temp. I think the views will more than compensate for the heat and you can always take a dip to cool off. Remember a hat and lots of drinking water. Enjoy!
